What's sad is that you could already do that on Linux. There were linux emulators that a variety of 2D systems. (seeing as on Linux in PS3 you only have 2D access to the GPU)
And they also loved GOW3.

There is nothing illegal with what Geohot has done actually, before the other OS feature came out he even intended to leave the PS3, all he wanted was to show he could do it. however the thing shown on the site is illegal and prosecutable as the dumping of OS data is legal however distributing it is infringement of patent laws.

That said if it were an exclusive it would have a greater chance to look good as the developers can focus on optimising the engine to just 1 platform. (that applies for exclusives across all platforms Vs most of their multiplat counterparts)

Eidos was bought by SE a few months ago and SE is using them to publish their games on Europe and the US. Just Cause 2 was getting published by Eidos anyway before the acquisition.

Well i run emulators on my PC too and they are much better and worthwhile. The real advantage of doing it on a console is being able to do it on the same machine you would regularly play games and doing it on the TV without the need for a laptop. Other than that there are ways to use a DS3 on PC so that is not an argument.
