That is the sad truth. VC had very underwhelming sales on PS3 because of hen it came out. It is sad because it was actually a very good games and now a proper console sequel is unlikely. (they will stick to PSP where the development costs are low)
Development cost is also why they are more eager to supporting the 360 now. (as well as more competition for now on PS3.)
One has to appreciate how long Insomniac has been with Sony. It would be hard for them to leave on mere sentimental reasons alone. It's not like Sony is mistreating them either.
"Not to say that every exclusive game is quality, but on average...oh, you get the point."
He did say that not all exclusives are quality. What he meant was that exclusives have more time and resources dedicated to optimising the game to one platform rather than having to port the game over and spend time to make the ports identical.
The guy that did Dead Space left Visceral to join Activision last year.
Yes it was minor. Mainly because not all models were affected and it fixed itself the next day. if you think a console not being able to go online for 1 day is bad then what about when Xbl was down for a week? Or RROD that means your consoles goes caput. Of course the PS3 has YLOD and i agree both systems have problems but comparing the clock problem with RROD is retarded.
So inovative! I have never seen a shooter where you could have 3 guns. I will proceed to give Activision my money and pre-order this!11 (extra RRP mind you)
/sarcasm
I wouldn't say that. After some leaked footage i have seen i have started to lose hope on that game.
They won't be cutting the price down. What i expect they will be doing instead is bundles with GT5 for 300$. It makes perfect sense if you think about it. Production costs for the slim are rumoured to go down.
That's nothing...
I am a real fan of this one. Huge fan of the McLaren F1
So looking forward to this game.
No idea how to make it faster. By default mine boots in <10s.
I'm with panda on this. Valve has no reason to support the PS3. They make money from Steam. A lot of money and they don't have to pay publishing fees or ridiculous royalties on DLC and their games. Linux is of higher interest to Valve because it allows them to keep their platform while increasing the size of their community.
Yep, i know they make more than a dollar. I just said a dollar because that is the lowest one could assume they charge so i set it as an example that even if the fee was as low they were still making a profit. You're right the price difference between PC and consoles is a result of royalty fees.
They don't need to in the sense of losing money at the moment. Since the slim launched they have been profitable in their game division. Next year they will also be making a 50$ profit per console. Since the slim they have been losing 0.06$ per console but that is insignificant when noting the fact that the slim is not bundled with any games. Provided they get 1$ royalties per copy they only need to sell 1 game in more than 10 PS3s to turn a profit. However i do believe that they will hav...
Only on N4G. xD
I believe this video is in order to unruin her for you :P
1M isn't bad. Considering neither of them were high budget games. Sure they didn't make a huge profit but they didn't lose a lot of money either.
Makes sense tbh. You wouldn't like it if you realised how much money DD makes in comparison to conventional media by eliminating distribution costs. Hence how steam can afford such great discounts all the time.
Which is pretty short-sighted if you ask me.
And needing 2Gb+ and a curent rig for portal is an achievement since when? lol
I can run it on my 2006 PC just fine maxed out. xD
