i would agree but i think its running on a pc with a 360 controller 99% of games now use this because it has become the default x input device for games for windows and is easily configurable :)
it would be ideal for testing a multiplat engine
for example unreal development kit recognizes this by default. :)
only think i got mad about was when playing with the controller you had to pause to get to inventory.
accompanied by a long pause before the pause menu loaded.

I cannot play any xbox game on emulation given the software has not been created and perfected. however i can emulate the wii at 1920x1200 >60fps when framelimiting is off , w 16x aniso and 4x aa

the cost of hardware has come down significantly in the last 5 years. so I am pretty sure this is workable. even in the small box it comes in.

they make windows etc. and Direct X which is what you were referencing right. direct x does not allow direct hardware level access to ati gpus so they came publicly and urged them to drop direct x api so that inner ring level hardware access could allow development studios to become less limited by the api and yeild greater performance from their hardware.
