I still see it as...
2014/2015 to be honest. Microsoft is knees deep with kinect, and having a 2-3 year life span for (what they consider) a new perephial console is very pointless.
Sony seems to be in no rush for the ps4. They've stated countless times that there just not interested...for now at least. Plus they have Vita on there hands.
To me 2014-2015 seems a way more realistic target date. Kinect would already be on the market for 4/5 y...
Till now-as in June 17th...My goty awards..
5. Dead Space 2
4. Bulletstorm
3. L.A Noire
2. Alice: Madness Returns
1. Portal 2.
Tell me about it.
A game like Alice 2 comes in. 20 hour experience. People complain it's to long.
A fps comes in. 6 hour experience. People complain it's to short.
Jesus christ almighty, people.... :(
Seriously what's up with the 3 disagrees? It's your loss if your missing out on Alice 2 simply because of ludicrous reviews.
It's probably your fault that the days of games like Midevil, and Crash Bandicoot are gone in favor for games like Gears, and Cod.
I'm proud
It's terribly sad that people will miss out on this game. Easily one of the freshest, and one of the most unique experiences this year. In an industry filled with shooters, with muscles the size of texas, it's nice to see a game that goes back to the old days of platforming, with a nice focus on art, and psychotropics.
Especially the fact that Alice 2 (which is a MUCH BETTER game imo) is 20+ hours, and comes with the original.
Yeah! Screw the people who work at Obsidian! Hope they get unemployed simply because I don't like there games!
Sleeper hit of the year folks. Reviews have proven that the reviewers are just incompetent fools.
Okay...
1. Alice 2 is actually a GOOD game...please note I'm not dissing on The Witcher 2....
2. Jim Sterling reviewed Witcher 2...Jim Sterling is a douche. Alice 2 was reviewed by someone who isn't jim sterling, and someone who isn't...a douche.
3. So, yeah...:)
Agreed. Chapter 2 is when everything started to "click" with me. It defintly one of those games that you have to keep playing before it "captures" you so to speak.
@BeOneWithTheGun
Well, I can't MAKE you like it, or MAKE you want to continue. But I really think you should. At first I was like you. I wasn't really fond of the game, and really thought that the reviews got it right (with the 5, 6/10 scores). But you just have to KEEP playing it. As you progress things just get better and better.
It's not one of those games where your grasped from minute 1. It's a game that DOES take a while, but when it ge...
Incompetent reviewers are incompetent.
Alice 2 is a darkhorse for goty. Not some bargin title they're making this out to be.
Are you serious? There's WAY worser looking games (homefront for instance).
The art direction ALONE blows away practically any game this year (save for maybe El Shaddai).
Come on it's Shinji Mikami...the damn creator of Resident Evil 4, and Vanquished. Of course this game is gonna be good.
Plus Akira Yamaoka is doing the music...that's like butter!
This game was destined to do good.
Regardless though. Homefront is a generic fps, that has nothing "unique" about it. Alice 2 on the other hand has breathtaking art, it has wonderful old school platforming. The music is eery and haunting. The story is also strong, and stays true to the source meterial.
To be honest there's really nothing out there like Alice 2. Platformers are almost all dead, and now we have nothing but fps, or third person shooters. So while Homefront and Alice 2 ARE different...
It has a 69 on metacritic. Even Homefront has a higher overall average than that...:/
So yes it's defintly underrated by critics. I could understand if the game was bad, but it isn't. It plays exactly how you would expect a sequel to Alice 1 to play. There's really nothing 5/10 worthy about this game..but yet, critics seem to be fond of stamping 5, and 6 out of 10s all over the place.
When this gen is over no doubt Alice 2 will be on the same lis...
yes...what do you think I was trying to say? Darkhorse?
:P
Really nice score. A bit weary since it is the first score, and all, but it's nice to see it being so positive. Could we be seeing a Batman: Arkham Asylum darkhore of 2011?
why do i get the feeling that the people who disagreed with you are the same people who simply looked at the review scores and deemed this game poor without even playing it?
