jesus christ. It was NEVER 14 years in development. It's been delayed, cancelled, restarted, cancelled again, restarted again, left to rot. 3d realms always had trouble with Duke Nukem Forever.
How's it there fault that Konami kicked Yamaoka out? Besides he's working on Shadows of the Damned now.
Vatra said they were saddened by this, but knew they couldn't get someone who would do a cover of his music, that would be a rip off they said. They got Daniel Lich to do (the dexter guy), and there bringing there own style.
You will be able to hear past Yamaoka songs on the jukeboxes around in silent hill: downpour.
Not only that b...
Wow so many don't get this at all.
This is nostalgic fan service for Duke Nukem fans. Nothing less, nothing more.
Well that's what playing a 12 year old game feels like.
Sorry but this isn't a game where the review score exactly matters. To be honest I would've preferred it reviewers didn't review this game period, or didn't attatch a score..either, or.
Just happy it finally came out. Even after 12 f'in years of all those delays, then cancellations, then restarts, then cancellations again, then delays, then 3d realms shutting down, then we see nothing on duke for a good 5 years, then gear box finally picks it up and decides ...
No offense but true fans of Duke don't care whether it's dissapointing or not. They care that they finally have it in there palms after 12 years of waiting.
Could care less about the score it'll get on metacritic, and most true duke nukem fans could care less as well.
You do realize this is the same exact game that 3d realms built all those years ago?
I don't see how the original creators can screw that up.
Sorry but you have played the leaked preview build? If not I suggest you do.
This is Deus Ex at it's FREAKIN Core.
Serious contender for goty folks, SERIOUS contender.
Played 10 hours of the preview build, and haven't been MORE immeresed in a game in a LONG time.
that's actually a really nice score. Seriously I'm not expecting much out of the o'l Duke. But if it can manage to get above a 70 on metacritic, then I'm in.
Seriously?
No respect for Id Software?
No respect for John Carmack? A gaming legend? That's like saying "bah, this Kojima, or Warren Spector game will be crap."
Have respect for the devs.
El Shaddi is looking like a darkhorse for potential goty.
It's already gotten a 9/10 from eurogamer, and now an 8/10 from Edge.
I knew this game was special.
Nice score Child of Eden also.
@Iamback
1. According to a german forum (where the info leaked) it's being referred to as AAA by Microsoft studios.
2. Kinect games can still be AAA...so don't get that point.
3. Games can play, and control badly and still be considered AAA. Look at Silent Hill titles for instance.
4. It doesn't matter if it's a GOOD game. AAA isn't about the overall score it'll get on metacritic. It's about the b...
Yes it's published by Microsoft Studios.
Being developed by Climax Studios, who recently done Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
It does kinda make you scratch your head, and wonder why they decided to show of games like Kinect Disneyland, and Kinect Seaseme Street, and neglected to show off games like this?
Weird.
it's missing the sly announcement
Um, all we've seen is a 2 minute cg trailer, with no info to go by.
Jumping the gun a bit?
looks like shit.
How?
July we have;
Call of Jaurez: The Cartlel
El Shaddi
Asuras Wrath
Catherine
Then in august we have;
Warhammer: 40K
Madden 12
Deus Ex: Human Rev.
No month, is an easy month...at least to me it's not :/
potentital 2012 goty candidate
I have. Played the full 10 hour leaked build. Let's just say, I wouldn't be surprised if a few votes were given to Human Revolution, and not Skyrim. ;)
The game is simply THAT good.
