Contrary to some this generation has not been big for first party exclusives. For instance of Sony PS4 titles that have had huge success; most have mainly been third party or bundled titles with a console. Microsoft has invested in first party titles. Sunset Overdrive is by far one of the best new exclusive titles for any console that only grows in popularity with gamers who are just catching up from missing out. You take Ori and The Blind Forest there are very few titles from anywhere that c...

Yup. There are not many quality titles for PSVR. Did Sony reveal how many PSVR units would ship? We'd have to know that to get a framework of where they sold, and how hot the device was for consumers to pick up.

Sony has done better overall with the PS4. They are stepping up their exclusives for 2017. They have been 3rd party heavy for the past three years, and indie pushing as well. So to see that Sony in house is releasing AAA exclusives I know Sony will be fine.

At the same time it's too hard and moronic not to see that Microsoft made incredible leaps in 2016. For them to release Xbox One S and it to do so well with gamers was admirable. Especially in light of the fact that...

I agree with some of this. Microsoft had a very focused and strong 2016 starting a little before E3. I was shocked that Xbox One S found such a strong audience. There's no denying that it really is a rock star paired with a great HD television for 4K. I do think that more people outside of Microsoft are concerned with the hardware. I think Microsoft has that nailed down. They could be really concentrating on how to showcase the software and how seamless your library is built into the Xbox...

You buy both. What Switch is doing from a hardware sensibility compliments the PS4 or Xbox One. You can add the PC. Nintendo just needs to get out of Nintendos own way. Microsoft did a fantastic job of giving us the right amount of information at E3 last year on Scorpio. The way they are rolling it out, I think it will be very interesting. They have new games such as Scalebound, Crackdown 3, Cuphead, State Of Decay 2, and some others that are fairly new properties. Then showcasing mixed reali...

Yeah those exchange rates coming back to the U.S are horrendous. I can't even begin to talk about the hits to wallet.

From the standpoint of introducing new game changing technology? Then yes the Xbox 360 was the King. This is not a sales knock against the PS2. The Playstation 2 introduced DVD's which were already being used on PC, but it was not changing the gaming landscape. Take into account that the Dreamcast was releasing some amazing games both online and offline. Phantasy Star Online, Doom, Quake were all playable on console online. The Playstation 2 refined game genres that were established alrea...

Again Srpinter...That's 24 million more units than any VR device has sold yet. Till one of these devices does that. We should all be wishing VR good luck.

Kinect has a guiness world record for sales on the Xbox 360. I don't know what the exact sales figures are for Xbox One. I do know there are people popping up everday on twitch using Kinect for Xbox One. So if VR starts to pick up I have no doubt Kinect will become the camera people will pick up for the their Xbox ...

my bad double post.

Kinect absolutely works. People use it everyday to do everything from Twitch to uploading movies. Secondly, there were little to no core games that used the full funtionality of Kinect. Third if we are going to talk about VR and not speak about PSVR using Move controllers and a camera then this entire conversation is senseless.

I'm passionate about this because at the end of the day in order for VR to work in a substantial way there needs to be motion controls. HTC Vive w...

There are many AR solutions you can get right now. Most are software solutions such as mobile aps. So the idea that there is a cost barrier only exists with hardware, but the form factor is less of cost inhibitor like VR. There are cars that are using AR right now on the roads. So do not believe for one second that AR is a next decade technology.

The components for Microsoft Hololens are not that expensive in terms of processor. You can see that in the dev kit. What is costly...

Although I do like Occulus Rift and Playstation VR. I'm really excited for HTC Vive. Since most developer titles will be on most of these platforms. Personally I'm going to pick up a Vive VR just because I think it has an interesting angle to VR. You guys at VR Focus are doing a great job. Salute...

Interesting. Maybe in a future sequel they could elaborate version. With proper feedback coming from the community about the Quantum Break that releases next month.

No matter the form that Nintendo's NX does take. They need some positive news and hype coming from the gaming community. For years Nintendo has been the Scrooge of gaming. Hermiting their commitment to gamers in an isolated niche.

There is no reason that Nintendo with their pedigree can't focus on multitude of gamers from all walks and age ranges. My hope is that they stay innovative without isolation. Let's hope that their new console is offering a significant fr...

My only gripe with Microsoft is that they hurt themselves when they have great momentum going. While letting the wrong areas of the public influence their decision making.

I find it ironic that the PlayStation VR uses both the camera, and Move controllers. Yet, we had the same audience that's going gaga over it tell the world they only wanted a gaming console that didn't force them to play different.

Many of us who do see Microsoft's Xbox brand as...

What is the infatuation with First Party? Does it devalue the hard work and quality titles that third party delivers? Seriously, Fall Out 4 is going to be beast no matter what first party game comes out on any console.

Is Star Wars Battle Front less worthy of attention and gamer's time than a first party title?

Both are great. Has been for generations.

Yeah, it was a homerun out the park to be honest. They set the table for the rest of 2015, and then gave us a glimpse into 2016 which to be fair was kicked off at E3 in June this year.

Seeing Quantum Break evolve into something really worth being on next years radar was awesome.

Cloud Tech really looking like something games will take advantage of with Crackdown 3 was super ill.

All of the big updates for the Xbox One coming like Windows 10 a...
