The market is a lot more saturated today than when the PS2 released, Xbox One is selling more popular than the OG xbox did and has a bigger brand now than back then. On top of that, PC gaming has been rising year on year so I doubt PS4 will reach 155 million if not simply because I imagine we'll get new consoles in 2019/2020.
Okay it appears that people did not understand my comment. Nintendo have been hinting that their new console is going to be cheap and a new type of gaming, therefore, it makes sense that if this new innovation is as innovative and fun as the Wii's motion controls, sales could be as big as the Wii (the best selling home console of all time). It's much easier said than done but it's a possibility.
Dropping deals like the COD dlc and instead focusing on first party games is a good move
All nintendo needs is an innovative, family-friendly console like the original Wii and it'll blow both PS4 and XB1 sales out of the water but, would this make it the best console? Of course not, that answer is entirely based on subjective preferences, not sales numbers on a spreadsheet
A threat? Trust me, the gaming market would be a real shitty place if Microsoft and Nintendo didn't challenge PS4, be grateful that all 3 are enjoying certain levels of success
If you truly mean it when you say that you 'can't wait to play' then pick up an X1 in the holidays. I'm sure you'll be able to get a cheap bundle and I bet that you won't regret it
So he can't share his own opinion now?
@saveferris Me included! I meant as the primary source of gaming
'special thanks' to all us gamers who invested our money in next gen consoles instead of going pc or God forbid mobile/tablet
I tell all my friends on Xbox One playing destiny to play WF instead exactly because of these reasons
I can see it being between 50-55 million possibly. PS4 and X1 selling strong for the remaining 5 months but I think X1 will sell crazy numbers in November/December like the biggest numbers for the fall time yet which could push overall next gen sales above 50 million
Sony's hold in Europe & Japan is something MS needs to tackle (if that's possible) because while the US and UK are like almost 1:1, Sony is just dominating almost all other territories
4k textures at 1080p res, neither console can do 4k gaming.
God forbid I post a bloody list of exclusives that we all know fanboys love to spam in every article but I will say that it's no surprise you 'wouldn't be even aware that the xbone has exclusives :D' because you're a ps4 fanboy and therefore, why would you look into what the competition is offering? No, you're far too pre-occupied mindlessly bashing the Xbox One as you attempt desperately to defend your purchase on the damn internet to complete strangers but why? Just ...
Impressive to say the least, congrats to Sony for replicating the glory days of the PS2, and to whoever mentioned the Wii, that can't be counted as a console surely? that thing isn't a console, it was a monster that was in practically every household. Jokes aside, seeing this and the impressive xbox one sales, It's safe to say all those 'consoles are dead' guys were dead wrong.
Cool list but when can we expect to see most of these games? 2016, 2017 or dare I say 2018? Lists are cool but fanboys can make lists for PS4, X1 AND WII U and they'll all claim their list is the biggest so just leave the lists behind guys
We can all agree that Games with Windows was a disaster but Microsoft learned their lessons and as an owner of a fairly decent gaming pc and and Xbox One I am very glad Microsoft is delivering on that 'Oneness' (for lack of a better word) with my Xbox One and PC. Looking forward to trying these new features out
'Near monopoly'... No, not even close. While playstation will continue to dominate continental Europe and Japan (as it has done since the OG Xbox) expect the 'fight' in the US and UK to be much more equal as it is now. There's a reason why PS4 when it does beat xbox one in NPD figures only does so by a few thousand units and that's because the sales are so much closer in the US and UK where, let's be honest, the sales matter most for both MS and Sony
Coming from a primarily Xbox player, I must confess that TLOU on the PS4 is the best game I have played in years. The game is amazing in all areas and I'm surprised they didn't predict it to be a success. Uncharted I've always loved but Bloodborne is the only one I wouldn't call a "Breakout" game, as far as I'm aware, it didn't sell too well.
This is probably the most interesting one of the bunch: https://twitter.com/XboxP3/...
In my opinion, MS will release the successor to the Xbox One in (my guess) 2019 and this will be 100% backwards compatible with your Xbox One games day one and all you're purchasing is the hardware upgrade.
