So many games, so little time.

I'm actually have a rather difficult time thinking of an exclusive Microsoft game that launched this year. Halo Wars 2? Was there anything else?

I expected Horizon Zero Dawn but, for some reason, Persona 5 surprises (and delights) me. Also glad to see Hellblade walking away with 5 nominations.

Kind of looking forward to Nov 17 just to see what the final reaction winds up being. I predict, like you, that sales won't be hurt that much. People will still support every Star Wars project just because it bears the name.

I don't think that's the argument - at least I hope not. It's more the hoops that were needing to be jumped through in order to unlock one hero. Essentially, it was priced in such a way that casual gamers would never unlock all heroes.

Seems like it learned how to make it sound like things are being fixed, but are essentially staying the same.

It's a huge selling point for me. I was on the fence since launch, but after playing a demo, I was swayed very heavily in favor of getting one this year.

Okay, I can appreciate that. Sometimes it's easier to go for the AAA title that is a guarantee to be recognized, but it wouldn't hurt to have mentioned similar indy titles.

That does kind of dilute the concept of journalism down to just being able to talk about a topic because you enjoy it.

If you are going to review a game, you should be able to speak critically about gameplay, but more importantly, people need to trust what your critiques are. If you're not good at a game, how can one trust your critique of that game's gameplay. I've played several games that I refuse to review because I wasn't very good at it. Sure, I enjo...

The problem is, for more modern and younger gamers, Dark Souls is the “go to” and best known for its difficulty. It’s not that people forgot, it’s that there’s an entirely different generation we’re dealing with.

Just writing for my audience.

If there's one thing I learned about Origins after a little hands-on time is to kind of forget about four through Syndicate. It feels and plays different enough to finally come across as an updated entry instead of DLC to Assassin's Creed II or III.

I have no counter points for the rest of those games. Shadow of War could wind up being too big for its own good. I'm in the middle of the COD WW2 beta and... holy lord it's the laziest game Sledgehammer has rele...

... What? Not entirely sure what you mean.

I'm probably alone in this, but I felt The Witcher was a little overrated. After so many hours, I just grew tired of it. You should give it a shot, though! Bloodborne, too.

The only one on this list I kind of enjoyed was The Order... but I can still find the many flaws it has.

Hmm, challenge accepted!

The Order's biggest fault is that it was a short game with a relatively very small amount of actual gameplay. The most frustrating thing a game can do is constantly take control away from the gamer.

Ha! I wasn't as smart to position myself on the ridge. He definitely steamrolled me quite a few times.

More than 50 deaths in an 8-ish hour game? Hardly see the point in it even being a feature... save to tell someone that it's just not the game for them.

I'm so ashamed. I had Alex in the back of my mind, but opted against including him... but if I had remembered Gon, there's no question he would have been on here.

Rumor has it that this isn't even true and Ninja Theory was... bluffing? Lying? Being weird?

There are reports of people intentionally dying to trigger the feature. I think PCGamesN reviewer reported dying 50 times and still not experiencing it.

After about an hour into Just Cause 3, you kind of realize there's only two reasons to keep playing and suffer through extended load times and glitches that, in other games, would be unforgiveable - to glide and blow stuff up.

Even then... meh. Just got old pretty quick.

Was surprised to see a mention for Ghost Recon. Hadn't had a chance to play it, but anything I've read or heard about it trashed it.

I was super hesitant about a tactical Mario game, but after seeing a lot of coverage on it, I'm surprised by how much I want to play it.
