Though it doesn't quite impress on the level of KillZone 2 or Halo 3, Haze looks like a pretty good FPS. I really like how they have the helmet view. Also nice how they put some vehicles in the game. The levels (or at least this one) look pretty open too.
It was definitely scripted imo in terms of the guy wasn't actually playing the game in real-time, but rather they showed gameplay clips of the level.
The confusing thing was that they made it seem like someone was playing the game in real-time. They show someone on stage with a PS3 controller after the video is shown at the Sony Press Conference.
Right, because a next-gen experience is all about the graphics...lol.
To an extent, yes, we want and expect better graphics, but no one here has even gotten to play the game yet.
I thought Perfect Dark Zero looked awesome at E3 2005 and then when I finally played it it was sluggish and the controls sucked imo.
Anyone have details on KZ2's story, multiplayer, etc.?
The problem for me with KillZone is that back in E3 2004 it seems this same situation was happening. All the Sony fanboys were saying how it was going to be the Halo killer, blah, blah, blah. I never got to play the game, but from what I heard it turned out pretty crappy even though people were calling it a halo killer after E3 2004.
Anyways...back to Halo 3.
With the Halo franchise we know that the gameplay is going to be great (heck, we even got to test out the multi...
This works better than screenshots:
Nope. They said it was still "Pre-pre-Alpha." Which if thats the case it'll be out i'm betting not until Holiday 2008.
"The only one to naysay... is an Xbot. shocker!! :P"
alright...and look who are the ones saying the E307 video is better...
Oh yes, because i have Xbox 360 i'm going to go all crazy and say that CGI is better than PS3 gameplay...oh gosh, lol.
Seriously, the E305 video had more fluidity, detail, etc. that the E307 video had, but just not as good.
I'm not saying the E307 video was bad...in fact it was one of the best looking game...
Wow, so this article is about pageviews at a website used to determine which press conference 'won' (as if it were a competition...)
I guess it all depends on what you'd expect. Microsoft's showed us all the great games that are coming out this year for Xbox 360. What it lacked though were the big announcements (exclusivity, price drops, tattoos (lol), etc.) that Sony's had with their confirmation of MSG4 being exclusive and Haze and UT3 being timed exclusive.
Killzone 2's E307 vid is awesome, but it is nowhere near the CGI video from E305:

IMO, Xbox 360 has better exclusive titles than PS3.
360: Halo 3, BioShock, Mass Effect, Project Gotham Racing 4, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Too Human, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Peter Jackson's Halo game, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and more.
This game looks like a lot of fun. Not only is it a sandbox game (which i love) but it also involves superheroes! The perfect combo! :)
If it is like Unreal Tournament, it will have a single player, but it'll just be playing with computer bots on multiplayer maps...so these games are bought pretty much just if you want the multiplayer experience.
IGN: Is it a permanent exclusive or will it be timed, ala Oblivion?
Key: Haze will only be found on PS3 this holiday season, and will remain exclusive through the first quarter of the calendar year.
So yeah, i guess Xbox 360 will be seeing Haze in 2008.
It is good for Sony that they got UT3 for Nov. 2007 since KillZone 2 is 2008.
They can't possibly say they are in pre-pre alpha...what, have they not even started the game yet!?
First and foremost, I thought the trailer was great. Very cinematic and looked like a blast to play. The only annoying thing was how the developers then have to jump out and have to try and defend the game's graphics with the whole pre-pre alpha thing. If it is in that point, then it must not be coming out next year i guess...
time travel?! hopefully not. It'd be nice if there wasn't any sci-fi involved in this one.
Anyone else notice how characters would be almost sort of highlighted in blue at some points or something...that was a glitch, right?
So it is pre-pre-alpha...so does that mean they haven't really started and all they have done is make that CGI trailer and the E3 07 one?
Seriously i thought the E3 2007 trailer was pretty cool. Very cinematic even if it didn't have the 'shiny' graphics that a lot of next-gen games have.
But anyways...i'm just curious about this game being in dev. for awhile and them still saying it is pre-pre-alpha...
A lot of people are disappointed with MS because MS really didn't tell us or show us anything we haven't heard or seen before.
was that comment to me or someone else...if it was me, lol don't worry, i'm not a Sony fanboy in disguise.
I actually thought my post sounded more favored towards Halo 3...?
I was just saying that at this point all the Sony fans are declaring KillZone 2 amazing because it has amazing graphics - yet have never gotten to play the game.
The biggest complaint from most 360 owners it seems(not necessarily from me) was that the Beta looked too much like ...
