I agree with your post it is exciting stuff. My only concern is that time and time again assessories DO NOT sell software but software assessories. As long as it is an assessory you can expect that most people with a 360 will not have this camera (at least 50/50).

The only thing that can be implimented this generation is planned AI routines. There is no way that AI technology has boosted to any level where interactivity is truly possible.
Take for example that paper that she drew a fish on. That could have been anything. I could have drawn a donkey on there and that AI wouldn't' have known the difference.
The problem with Natal isn't the technology but the support it will receive. The reason why the wii works with motion controls is because it forces developers to impliment them. Until MS takes the leap and decides this is THE "controller" to have it is just going to be a better eyetoy.
It is an assessory, nothing less, nothing more. Now, I also have my doubts about Mylo and the AI shown in the press conference. Everything there was planned to create an AI routine....

umm the waggle controller is actually the MAIN controller of the console. It must be used in every game. This camera is an assessory that developers will either embrace or discard.
I hope they embrace it and run with it. Like I said in an earlier post it has very cool tech but there wasn't ONE game shown for it. Tech demos are tech demos but not to show a game means this thing is early on...
It is very cool technology but what will determine a purchase from me is how games turn out with it. If it doesnt have great games this assessory will be a huge flop. If there are great games for it then it will succeed.
The most concerning thing about this is that no matter what happens this is just another assessory.
I am glad that the 360 only owners will get to play a MGS game. Now if you ladies and gents like that one you should really buy a ps3 for MGS4. One of the best games this generation, bar none.

An open world Western game with all the bells and whistles of GTA IV? Count me in. It has to be much harder to create a well running game in an urban environment. The framerate suffered in GTA because of this. However, it still looked fantastic for an open world game. I expect Redemption to have a more stable framerate and look better overall.

It looks kinda like a spiritual successor to San Andreas in the single fact of the expanse of the playing world. They said they are taking the scale to a whole new level and with the sparsely populated desert and later the forest region they may just be able to pull it off this generation with good visual fidelity.
Hopefully next gen has around 4 gigs of memory so there is no pop-in and the worlds can be more seemless with more stuff packed in them.
