Oh man... I cannot wait to see the meltdown in here. People will be crying for months, even years. Does Eurogamer's opinion of a game matter to me? He!! no. However, it will be worth a couple of good laughs in here. Hopefully by then I will have my copy of KZ2.
I am sorry but if you arent a MP fan then ANY FPS is a hard sell for 60 bucks.
The only games I would buy are select TPS's and RPG's. However, I like playing FPS MP games so this game will be worth the price of admission. I HOPE that the SP blows me away but if it doesnt the MP WILL.
Things I am worried about include:
Length
Storytelling
Mission Objectives
The lack of splitscreen for the bots (I mean whats the point without a buddy)
The lack of any kind of Co-Op
Things I am absolutely excited about:
The MP (worth the price of admission alone)
The Graphics AND Sound
The Single Player
The weapons
lean and peak
For one thing the 4/5 that was given to KZ1 isnt even from the same magazine... I think the new OPM came into existence last year so its pretty hard to use that ad hominem argument...
Secondly, gameplay is highly subjective. These guys say its super immersive and then they say it feels "gamey"... I cant say that these two mesh at all. What that tells me is that these guys were either looking for good things to say or finding something to complain about, OR they just...
Maybe not right out of the gate but lifetime sales should hopefully get more... We all know how terrible sonys advertising is...
Well, lowering the price would boost sales quite a bit, which would be good for the fanboys. Too bad sony doesnt answer to the fanboys....
However, in all honesty if they want to stay competitive in a bad economy they are going to have to lower the price next year by 100 bucks. 50 in the spring and 50 in the fall, plus with lowering costs they are going to be able to. They may not be able to recoop their loses by lowering the price but they can stop the bleeding.
Exclusive reviews are very very suspect. Doesnt anyone else wonder why they are always so high?

The overall lighting, effects and feel? By miles...
Its kind of a wash for me, which is amazing in itself but yeah this game is going to blow socks off when it comes out.
its not a sleeper hit but it is one of my top 3 most wanted games of 09... right behind KZ2 and Uncharted 2.

ahem... is anyone saying that bluray is failing still? Its not is it? They will say the dark knight saved the bluray but in truth it never really needed saving. They will say the same about games like GT and GOW3... but in the end it never needed saving and it is doing just fine.

I think it needed a price cut this holiday season if it wanted to "beat" the competition. However, Sony as a corporation cares about profits and margins not some stupid a** fanboy war.
In order to beat out the competition in sales they need to drop the price and they will. They wont catch the wii this generation but only certain fanboys will dispute that it wont come in second. Of course, other fanboys will claim that the PS3 doesnt need a price cut soo....

Remember that Greg Miller is a HUGE super hero buff. If you like super hero games then this game looks dynomite. If you arent a big fan it will pry still be a good game but i dont know if you will react the same way as greg is.
