are you being serious? Well if you are it takes any 2.5" harddrive.
Shellshock- you are 100% correct. Supporting a dead format makes the 360 look bad. Sales will suffer. We are transferring from the SD era to the HD era and the 360 was never really along for the ride.
THe more interesting question is what will the 720 have in it? IF its bluray then royalties need to be paid to its largest competitor for every 720 and every disc made.
you are absolutely correct. They will have to suck it up and pay sony or use a new disc they make and lose bluray playback. If I were sony I would put the royalties so high that it would force MS to use a different format. But then again I dont know how much money is to be made from allowing MS to do this. Its all about the bottom line. It will be interesting to say the least.
There is no way that DL can be the exclusive way to get a game. Its just not feasible, not yet. ...
they all created accounts and are praising bluray and how awesome the ps3 is. :)
i think if it were labeled under tech it would ok, but it does have relevancy to the format and the ps3 in large. The ps3 plays dual roles as a movie player and gaming machine. Should one aspect be taken out completely? I think both the movie format and the gaming itself are intertwined.
that had me laughing... why do people listen to this 320 lb 40 year old virgin MALE anyway?
Alan Wake sounds frickin awesome...
the same sh*t was talked before the ps2 came out. Its a given that the PS3 saw a longer negative streak but in the end when all the games come out everyone will love the ps3.
yes, the 360 has peaked.
yes, the 720 will be announced before 2009.
yes, the ps3 will overtake the 360 late late this year or next.
yes, ms will sell around 30 million consoles this cycle.
Yes, the ps3 will sell very well this year.
What does this mean for the average gamer? Nothing.
What does this mean for a fanboy? EVERYTHING.
VGcharts isnt as bad as some make it out to be. Its not exact but its usually in the same ballpark as the actual figures and often its the only thing we got.
So you want proof but deny the only source that could possibly tell us worldwide numbers? What would be a legit source on worldwide numbers?
nice spin on the numbers Ford... I hate to tell you but worldwide sales are all that count. The US is only part of the pie
gotta agree with Lumbo... DS is winning the handheld war.
They have cancelled their CES booths, now its time to bow out. Sony's year started out bright and will end brighter with the PS3.
It will be at least 5 years before digital distribution even considers the mainstream technologically illiterate public a target audience. People still like hard copies of their movies and always will.

Well I didnt expect it to end this early but it looks as though hd-dvd is on its last leg... The format war is ending, the ps3 killed hd-dvd and now has its sights on the 360 and in late 2008 early 2009 will overtake the 360 but trail the Wii miserably. Great news for the industry as a whole.
Thanks for the input, but Square at 85%? That would be huge! I can think of at least 2 titles from each of the aforementioned that I would love to play again. Either way its only good news.
I think what draws me to this game more than anything is the ability to create and share physics based puzzles. I think this will be a different type of game then you mentioned, but I think it will be great for the industry and for Sony.
double post...
they do tend to show stuff way too early and then "delay" it. However, these games dont have a release date so they arent delayed, they are just shown way too early so people feel as though they are getting delayed.
i really doubt downloadable content is the savior you think it is.
