put 120 gb ps3 w/backward compatibility and ds3 in at 449 and drop the 20 gig to 299. they will both sell well. Plus you can drop the 120 gb another 50 bucks when MGS comes out.
I thought there was more missing from the 40gb model than just a HDD.
they could leave the 120 gig at 499 but they need a 100 dollar price drop on the 40 gig. If its only 100 bucks cheaper thats just rediculous and effectively takes it out of the game
yeah i think a 120 to 160 gig model should be the last they offer. They need to focus bringing down the price on the lowest end sku.
well the cool thing about the ps3 is that any 2.5" hdd works with it. So you can upgrade it at any time. Also, isnt it nice to be able to install some of the game so it cuts down on load time? After all, its about choice right? I know of a certain console that doesnt even give the developers that choice...

sorry folks this is good news for the high end ps3 but without a price drop to the 40gig it effectively makes it useless. Sales will plummet on the 40 gig. They should be priced at 299 and 499. If they arent I see it as a mistake. They need to break under 300 bucks, price is a big issue, we ALL know this. At 299 it will at least give some consumers a decision between the 40gig and the 120 gig.
These are old, they are NOT targets, they are tech demos of what they are doing. I believe these came out in the flurry after E3 last year, so they are bound to be missed. I got excited for a second.
in order for it to be worth the cash there would have to be an exclusive game.
as long as the core game is equally good on both consoles I am happy. I played san andreas for 80 hours. Thats long enough for a game, I finally got sick of it. Extra content is kinda overkill for a GTA game if you ask me.

the only problem with MS this gen is that they werent able to broaden their fanbase. Its the same people that bought an xbox. However, MS is now making money on the 360 which they didnt do with the original which is a positive sign. The 360 just doesnt have the broad appeal that the ps brand is renowned for. That doesnt mean that the 360 is any sort of a failure, they just need to work on changing their image a bit and they could become a serious contender (I know, I know, I am making it ...
