lol there is no way that Toshiba is waiting for DD to hit mainstream. Never quite understood why a hardware manufacturer like Toshiba would want DD anyway... oh wait, they wouldnt.
Now that one of the major dominoes has fallen this generation it will be very interesting to see what happens with the ps3 sales in the next few weeks... I expect it to be analogous to one of the heavy hitters releasing (MGS, GT, FF) we shall see though.

yep like i said in an article yeterday, when Toshiba pulls out of the format war the ps3 will see a major boost in sales.

the ballpark is ok with me, especially if its the only numbers we have. yeah they arent correct EVER but they are decently close and for some regions its all we have.
100% agree. What is good for sony or MS or Ninetendo is good for us consumers. I may prefer Sony as a gaming machine for MY tastes but thank God for the Wii and the 360.

seriously expect a BOOM when toshiba throws in the towel. An analogy would be to consider as if it were 1 of the top 3 games this generation for the ps3. I know that bluray isnt a game but when it comes to sales spikes from a single action expect this to be one of those spikes.
my assumption is that the ps3 will be around 27 million by Jan 1st 2009. 17 million this year folks. before I get flamed, remember that it hasnt even been out a year in Europe, many of the proven franchises are coming out, and bluray has won the format war. hell it could even be 20 million with a price drop to 299 and 399.
the whole point of getting developer tools out there is that it gives new games time to impliment them. A neat little tidbit is that accomplishments are necessary in order for sony to accept the game. Same with HOME access
yeah its in the tools but that doesnt mean a release is imminent
all of the necessary features havent been implimented, it is usable, but not everything is there that needs to be. We are one very large patch from being usable. They tried to impliment something but it isnt working atm. IF they are going to release it they used internal beta to finish it up.
If the beta is any indication we are months out.
I dont think its ready to be released yet... I have experience too. I just dont see it unless there has been major work done behind the scenes.
