Switch 2 will keep selling less than PS5 in most markets but when Nintendo will drop their blockbusters, that's when the sales will massively spike before slowly going back to normal levels under the PS5. Overall with the seasonal spikes, Switch 2 might be able to outsell the PS5 on a yearly basis due to the PS5's age.
They had probably wanted to do that all the way back to 2012 when they introduced the Sony Entertainment Network and the backlash forced them to keep the PSN name alive.

If prices don't fluctuate according to the demand then it's noit dynamic pricing, it's simply A/B testing to see the effects of various price points on sales.

Ken Kutaragi isn't Sony as a whole. He's just a guy who was certain he'd made the best console of all time. MS execs have said far worse arrogant things over and over again yet what people bring up as an example of arrogant Sony is the 20 year old PS3 launch and Kutaragi's words.

Just because of the price?? If it was a scam then I'd agree but PS3 was indeed worth the price it retailed at! Like the saying goes, dedicated Blu-ray players were the same price or more as the PS3 and you couldn't play games.
Compare that to Nintendo selling you a reheated $450 console when it's hardly worth half of that price.

And even Gamepass flopped. The end goal of Gamepass was to be hegemonic, to kill game purcahses with subscriptions. But that never happened. Game sales are still thriving, Gamepass' subscriber count has stalled, it's costly for MS and studios and its price is increasing.
The purchase of Activision allows them to hide Gamepass' failure. Not suprising that gamepass was removed from Nadella yearly bonus, they knew they would never hit the targets.
