they carry weight when they come from an industry professionals.
Unlike you or me or Destroidroid, Mr. Matt Keil works in the gaming industry and has first-hand knowledge and experience in the industry. He has professional credentials and background to back up his opinions.
You do not. Destroidroid does not.
Professional credentials in the relevant industry. Professional credentials. Credentials. Credibility. That's what makes his opinions ...
I had never even heard of Destroidoid until today.
I'm sure most of you guys know G4 and have watched a G4 preview or review before.
I thought Mass Effect would not come out until the end of November.
What's the score Destroctoid gave Mass Effect?
What other games have Destroctoid reviewed? What scores did Destroctoid give to BioShock, Heavenly Sword, and Lair?
Friday is always a good day to make new announcement. You know, you announce something on Friday, so to give people a whole weekend to go home and rest, for the news to sink in, and then come back next week and realize it's a whole new beginning!
Yeah, I heart Friday. :D

Nickerson was talking about the success of releasing '300' on both formats he was quoted as saying:
"We don’t miss any of the consumers, because we don’t choose one format," Mr. Nickerson said. "Our objective as a studio is to provide content to as many different people as possible."
"If you choose one format over another, you’re going to limit the audience in an already limited audience," he said. "In the short term, it’s bette...
those combo just makes no sense or whatsoever.
10 to 15, actually.
It's only Peter Moore who's been hyping Madden 08 at E3, and soon afterward we found out why.
As for GTA IV, Microsoft did pay money for exclusive episodes. It's a stupid move, IMO. The money could have been better spent on a couple new IPs.
UHDV (Ultra High Def Video) is coming, and it's 16 times sharper and crisper than HD.
Neither Blu-ray nor HD-DVD has enough space to fit even one movie in UHDV. A two-hour UHDV movie takes up 25 TB of storage space.
TB = Terabytes = 1000 gigabytes.
PCD, which can hold 50 TB per layer, will replace Blu-ray and HD-DVD.
PCD = Protein-coded discs.

I thought they're remaking the game, and it's a trailer of the remake.
The title should have specified that it's a trailer of the MOVIE.
Otherwise Microsoft wouldn't have been hyping it.
but the sources (= forum posts by users here known to be biased) are simply unacceptable.
Since when could our users (larry007 and nasim) become sources for news? Are they now the judge, jury, and executioner of N4G news sources all at once?
He favors HD-DVD but he's not a strong supporter. Ultimately, he favors neutrality.
Blu-ray camp is now attacking Nickerson as "an outspoken proponent of HD DVD" simply because he decided to stay neutral and not take the side of Blu-ray. Now that's just low class.
9/10 is an excellent score coming from GameSpot.
Where are the numbers originated from? do they come from a reliable source? NPD? VGChartz? Where?
The link leads to a forum, then redirects to another forum, then there is an uncredited, amateurish chart -- and still no source is mentioned.
this is the same news Hollywood executives, agents, producers, and directors will be reading tomorrow first thing in the morning in their offices. This is like the "Wall Street Journal" of Hollywood. Hollywood execs make their decisions based on what they read in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
Imagine the shockwave this will send through the industry tomorrow. The title "PS3 price cut helps, but not enough: Sony's next gen console still in last place"...
So all those July's "PS3 is #1" news postings from Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, eBay, Wal-mart, etc, that were littered all over N4G by Sony fangirls become a complete waste of time and space.
And if PS3 didn't outsell 360 in July -- with Ninja Gaiden Sigma's release, the $1 billion Xbox 360 repair announcement, Peter Moore's resign, PS3 price cut, Sony giving a great show at E3, Target went Blu-ray exclusive, yadda yadda yaddda -- then don't expect PS3 to outdo 36...
professionals who work in the industry are not.
"Gamers" is not exactly a credential -- it does not earn you any credibility or respect.
Industry professionals can and do often discredit the words of some random gamers. Industry professionals discredit rumors and speculation cooked up and spread by all the "real gamers" all the time.
