This game needs more replay value than COD4 and a slower ranking system that rewards skilled players more. If they have a similar system, prestige need a whole rework, it was just a cheap way of persuading people to play more without any actual reward.

I play it nearly every day, and it is my most played video game of all time, but I don't think it should have won. That honour should have gone to mass effect, PS3 owners won't know what I am talking about but those who own PC's and 360's have got to agree...It's ****ing epic.
What the hell is wrong with some of you fanboys! Why the hell shouldn't SE release FFXIII on the 360, they are a company, they exist to make money, not to make you feel better. They release on the 360 and they get more sales which means profit. This isn't a war where there are strict sides. And I heard there are online petitions where fanboys sign, threatening SE with not buying their game, such a bunch of losers.
He was talking about consoles, of course Half - Life and doom did more for the genre, but they were for PC, and despite goldeneye, people still thought of FPS as the realm of the PC. Halo was the first to change all that. And had awesome multiplayer, the first halo was actually really not innovative for FPS in general. Surprising for something that sold so well, the second game was way more groundbreaking.

had the most bang for buck of it's generation, SLI 8800gt's smashed up everything else including the miles more expensive 8800gtx (but man did that card reign supreme for a long time)

That was a big screw up that could undermine the whole system later on. Chances are, if a developer doesn't have to put them in, they won't.
Microsoft should make gold free, that way, PSN will still lose the one advantage it does have. Besides Microsoft should be making loads anyway from the Ads they put up.

Right now they have huge performance increases over conventional hard drives, wait for them to come down in price, become mainstream. THEN they can concentrate on power.
The 'Super' R770 will beat it in more regards, as it has a much lower power usage, although that spare power and lower temperatures can just be used for extreme overclocking.
Groundbreaking for console FPS. Let's exclude PC for a moment, as they will always be light years ahead of consoles. The first Halo created the best FPS controls up to that point, until Halo, FPS's were called (and rightly at that time) the realm of the PC. Halo 2 created (or at least brought into mainstream) the regenerating health system that loads of games use now (Call of Duty series anyone?). Now Halo 3 has Forge and Theater. Nuff said.
have been ported from the PC, so there was no focus on making the controls work better. Either way it's a PC buy for me. A mouse will be so much faster and precise than a fixed reticule.

ATI ALREADY have a gt260 equivalent, the 4870 1%-2% more powerful on average. Hopefully this new card will bosst them up the gt280-level performance. Also it will be awesome if there is a SUPER HD4870X2 version as well
are horrible, why would you bench the 9800gtx versus the 4870, we already know that it beats the gt260. Simple logic.
Also their benchmark graphs are ALOT harder to make sense of.
Who is waiting for the 4870X2 to utterly dominate the gt280 AND be less money.:)
Are these guys retarded, Why the hell would they benchmark the 4850 against the GT280? Why benchmark a super performing £400 card against a mainstream £130 one.
The 4870 vs GT280 would have been a better test. I worry about whoever thought this article up I really do.
