neither is doomed. both will be super fun. by this time next year we will be expecting 1080p 60fps games on ps4 as a norm. sony has been working on this since 2010, that means they knew from the start this was going to be part of the plan when they were designing the ps4. that 8gb of GDDR5 is starting to make a ton of sense. not only that, but the headset has its own chip to adjust the image, saving precious resources as pointed out by a dev at GDC.
I wonder why he said that or if he's actually used rift DK2. They have literally the exact same resolution per eye.

Does he not understand that this is exactly like the rift? where its ONE 1080p image @60hz cut in half for each eye? thus anything that runs @ 60fps on ps4 @1080p will work with morpheus? It is NOT 2 full 1080 images.
it could be a VR mini game mode. you stand there and defend against hordes of monsters with your swinging move hands. it would be glorious.
R&D != game studios. The money is separate in order to make progress on both fronts.

any game that runs 1080p @60fps shouldnt have a problem being VR compatible with morpheus.
according to those who've used it its visually better than OC's latest headset, which they are also selling for 300. It would be very easy for a company like sony to put out their headset at 249 or possibly even 199 and still maintain the same level of quality. its hard to believe, but manufacturing is CHEAP now days.
isnt MS all about that "lets point a projector at the wall in front of you" thing? forgot what they were calling it. but thats going to be their version of VR. and hint: its not VR.

Edit: You need to look up the definition for "free" if you're paying for it through taxes, its not free. also, your tax dollar goes a lot less than a normal dollar, as you end up paying the salary of every bureaucrat between you and your doctor.
OC's latest price is 300 bucks. Sony can and will beat that pricepoint.

I steam my ps4 games to vita regularly. As well as enjoy its high quality titles. I use 3d contend whenever its available. I still use the move. You're ignorant to think that every living soul is just like you. Thats the idea behind variety. Offer consumers EVERYTHING they might be interested. get over yourself, bud.
Their sound tech hasn't been done in the consumer space. Ever. Go read something.
