samsung's cameras are absolute trash. Their phones have horrendous build quality with sub-par reception. Their TVs are good, but so are everyone's. To be honest, Sony is still a brand to get if you're looking for some sort of quality in your electronics.

way to miss the point entirely, jackass. When you have 1 platform to work on, you can either push it to its limits visually, or tone it down a bit for 60fps. Its balance. The designers chose visual fidelity over high framerate because to them, it was worth it. It makes sense then to trust them as its their job to give us the best experience they can manage.

while i actually see where you're coming from and half agree on a lot of it, i think you are looking at these companies too broadly. I know lots of people in the xbox division and they are very passionate and believe in their abilities and want their product to be enjoyed by gamers. The same would be true for a gaming division at Amazon and Google. dont assume just because a corporate big wig sees games as $$$$ it means that the people producing the product and developing for it dont want...

E3 2014. This happens. MS will drop the kinect and the console will be down to 349 OR they keep the kinect and the console drops to 399.
youre not making the same argument. so it doesnt even matter. the point was to make a computer that plays games as good as a console for around the same price. period. I could go on and on about the endless features bot the xb1 and ps4 have that a PC does not but it doesnt matter. to be honest, most phones these days make 90% of PC uses pointless. I can do taxes, bank, web, video, camera, blah blah blah all from my phone.
i will agree its freaking fun to play. lol it just seems like 9.5 should get the user a lot of fun..i dont know. maybe more game modes or something would get it that high for me.
sorry, one more thing to add, did you check out using an AMD APU and crossfiring with a low level GPU? I heard thats a pretty solid way to go for low-end.

My point was going into this article I figured it was going to be an apples to apples what type of gaming experience can you get for the price of a console. Thats not entirely what I got from reading, however.
I will agree that if I was in the market for titan fall, and had no hardware to play it on, that I would probably build a PC after reading this article. :-P

600+ bucks is not the same price as a ps4. the system you built for the actual price of the ps4 failed. so the answer is: No. you cannot build a good gaming PC for the same price as a modern console.
By failed i mean failed to deliver adequate or comparable performance.
i hate what MS has been doing. We all know the XB1 isnt that fast of a machine, but THAT IS OK. the Wii U isnt either, and it offers some really cool and unique experiences. I would LOVE for MS to just shut up and BRING IT. bring the cool new kinect experiences. bring the new games. Gamers love games. Bring that to E3. shut the front door about the cloud.

dude, the Dam level never lags. something was up with that particular server or probably had too many users with bad connections. make sure you only connect to servers in your region.
MUCH more playable now. Ive been playing 64p naval strike all day on PS4 and only once in a while get a minor hiccup. Im so happy to have ended my 6 month stay in rubber band city. :-D

PC market is dying anyways. Almost nobody will even care about PCs in the near future. Mobile will completely replace the desktop in the coming years. And no, other TV manufacturers are offering less for less, but nobody really cares about that in the TV market. People want big and 1080, which everyone offers for cheaper. People have switched focus to spending a ton of money on phones and tablets, TVs are no longer the centerpiece of the home. Thats what hurting Sony. They dont have a low end...
