This seems to be a big thing around the gaming sphere when it's really not. This happens all the time at multiple developers from MS, Sony, Nintendo, etc. Sometimes people get tired of making the same games constantly, or sometimes it's just the right time to follow your dreams. It's easier than ever to be an independent studio, or just make games in general. It's just whether what you make is good or not. Good luck to them all. I'm sure they will do even more great things...
Why do we keep comparing games to this degree? Besides being open world these 2 are not at all the same. They both are amazing games that have totally different goals they are trying to achieve.
Can we just all be honest here and admit that most people are looking at this with an emotional response to whichever "Side" they are on? Like for instance if it was Sony buying ABK, most people would be praising it in my opinion. All these companies practice scum tactics. I think no matter the outcome of this deal, the new thing to do is just what Sony is doing. Instead of buying other companies, let's throw them $$$$ to keep said game off of said platform. Maybe you see MS th...
In my opinion the only way this deal hurts Sony is if they sit back and do nothing instead of innovate. They are more than capable of making a shooter that's great. The reason they don't right now tho is cuz they just sit back and take those COD Billions. So I'm hoping whether this deal goes through or not, it at least lights a fire under Sony to take advice from Kratos and Do Better.
Between this and Deadspace in Jan it's looking really good. Can't wait.
I'd guess it's either a Mercenaries mode that has online play or they will just carry over RE Verse.
Regardless of anyone's thoughts on this acquisition, if MS doesn't get them, someone will. ABK wants to be bought. They are the ones who went looking to sell originally.
I'd guess we have about another 2 years until cross gen winds down. Unfortunately by then also there will probably be talk of PS5 Upgrade/PS6 and Xbox Series XL. Nintendo is the one who really needs an upgrade tho. A 4k next gen box from them or a Steam Deck like upgrade would be great. I just wish they'd start making these things modular/upgradable because we are at a point where it's far from xbox to 360/PS2 to PS3 days.
As bad as it is I understand the problems Microsoft is facing. It's their own fault they are in this position as they almost gave up on gaming completely. Fans will only deal with the games are eventually coming mantra for so long. 2023 looms like it could be their best year in a long time if they pull it off. 2023 is just the beginning though. If they don't produce multiple good to great games a year from 2023 on then they've done it all wrong. They have the studios and talent, t...
I can afford it no issues, but without knowing exactly what games will be there on launch I'm not sure yet. I do think the price is a bit high. Sony shouldn't want this to be niche. They should want everyone to jump in, not just the hard-core. I would've ate some of the cost if I was Sony.
Even tho I see no problem with this acquisition, I'm just going to assume it'll be blocked at this point. Afterwards, somehow Sony will turn around and buy the COD ip itself. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Hilarious seeing all these people argue about whether a company is making money or not.
I doubt they keep going with remakes with 5 and 6. The most logical to me is Code Veronica, but a remake of 1 more in line with these current games would be great also.
Why is this a big deal? IGN interviewed the RE4 Remake Producer and he said they made the game for next gen consoles then worked it back for ps4/series s. WB could have done a "Next Gen Patch" for GK but chose not to is how it looks to me.
I wish most games took 15 to 20 hours. The games that are 40 plus just become monotonous half way through. Not many games offer something new 20 hours in. I am excited for Calisto and Dead Space. I think we will have 2 good, and possibly great games.
Good lineup, but not even one Horror or Scary game for October?
Would be a cool Nemesis System. May be cool if each hero focuses on different villains, then once all 4 heroe campaigns are done the true villain emerges and you use all four for a final push towards the end.
Not at all. I say give Id Software a chance. Let 343 do their own thing and maybe they'll do something decent.
I think it's because it is open and not just a set path. Newer people or people that aren't good would get stuck in a normal souls game and that's it. Maybe give up and never come back. Elden Ring you can just go off somewhere else and evolve or explore. To me, the exploration is the best part of this game, but I'm not a hard-core souls gamer. Either way, the game is good. For them to be surprised at the response to it is a bit weird tho.
I've a feeling Ubisoft is going to be one of the next big acquisitions. Or at least maybe sell off some of their IP. I don't understand what they see with Skull and Bones that it's not one of the canceled games. There's not much excitement for it. Now if they just did a Black Flag series and dropped the Creed from the name then it would get people hyped.
