I don't really agree with his examples. There are only so many themes one can use for a story. The Metal Gear Series uses betrayal a lot to be fair, but there's a lot of other elements being used in the story, it has some depth.
Depth is something that separates a good game from a memorable game.
The writer should be clearer on what he's trying to get across.

There are a lot of 'modern' wars that can be covered. They still have WWI and the Korean War. You know, wars that still count and have major ramifications to this day.

Yeah I know companies usually do. But Nintendo is onto their 5th generation of hand-held gaming systems (6 if you count the Virtual boy) and still making three revisions in 4 years is excessive.

I'm sorry, but if you picked up the Manual for the PS3 it clearly states and concisely explains how to upgrade the PS3 hard drive.
As is, any External drive of any capacity (given the limitations of the File Format system) will be accepted with the PS3. You may not be able to move the Game data or installed games on to the external, but you can move movies, game saves, music, photos on to the external.

Well the PS3 is able to double as a Linux computer. But that aside, PCs are mostly suffering under their costs of upgrade and frequency required to do so for most of the nicer newer games.
I personally see the industry tripping over it's shoelaces. All they have to do is tie up those troublesome loose ends and they can litteraly get up and running.
