Not really. They showed 40 games one year I think? If they showed a similar number this year it would still mean that the majority of games shown are 3rd party or indie. What he's saying here doesn't indicate that the conference will not be mostly 3rd party content or be mostly 1st party.

"Microsoft Game Studios for is the moniker for their publishing, which is what you'll see at the start of the game or trailers, and includes both 1st and 2nd party games they release."

Except we actually don't know what they mean when they say 'Xbox Studios Games' because the divisions rebrand makes it a confusing term in this instance.

"For those curious, Sony does the same thing under Sony interactive Entertainment for pub...

Eeer I think it's far less than a handful seeing as I only named 8.

"State of Decay 2 content, Sea of Thieves content, Possible Obsidian new IP"

Those are add-ons/updates not games and the Outer Worlds is Obsidians news IP.

"Ori, gears tactics, gears pop, battletoads aren't being developed by 1st party studios."

I literally covered this in two paragraphs in my comment. Read before respondin...

When he says 'Xbox Game Studios' he could also mean from a publishing perspective since the division was rebranded from Microsoft Game Studios. Alan Wake was published by Microsoft Game Studios and they're not owned by Microsoft so saying 'Xbox Game Studios games' does not necessarily mean it's 1st party. Death Stranding is a 'Sony Interactive Entertainment' game but it is also 2nd party so it depends on what he means when he says it and it's why I ask for ...

Off the top of my head the ones we know about could be:

Gears 5
Halo: Infinite
Gears: Tactics
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Halo: MCC
Battletoads
The Outer Worlds (Does this count?)
Wasteland 3

I could be wrong here and it depends on how you interpret his comment but I don't think he's saying they're all 1st party. Could be 2nd party since he says 'Xbox Game Studios' which ...

They seem similar to the Skulls from MGSV tbh. Hopefully they're more interesting to fight against in Death Stranding.

Also how do you dismiss zombies as a plot device and then say Death Stranding isn't doing similar? You think none of these elements are going to be used for plot? Come on dude. That's just being picky and it's fine as long as it doesn't feel forced.

Gears can be ambitious but you have to be clever about how to do it. The multiplayer is pretty much hitting the point where it's core mechanics are polished to perfection. What they should consider doing is revamping horde mode. Horde is still brilliant but I think it's time they doubled down on it and made maps designed specifically for it and adding real objectives (the current system is more challenge based).

Make it so the maps are relatively large scale (compar...

Wouldn't be Gears then would it it? The last time a Gears game attempted radical changes to the gameplay formula it was universally hated and seen as the worst entry in the series.

5th of July. Nice!

Been keeping an eye on this since last year.

They already did have Cole as the villain, lol.

2540d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Well have I got news for you pal! Planetside 2 has been available for nearly 4 years on the PS4 and longer on PC and people still aren't blown away. Maybe the novelty of scale is actually overrated and people don't care as much about it which is why MAG failed when multiplayer shooters were at peak popularity during it's lifetime?

If you were blown away by 256 players in 2010 why would you not have been blown away by 1000 roughly 2-3 years later?

Did you just write 5 paragraphs telling me why Sony is going to do better than MS at E3 in response to a single sentence that never mentions MS?

So what was it in your head that compelled you to waste your time writing that and thinking it refutes what I say?

2540d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Where did I say that? What were you smoking to come to that conclusion?

2540d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Actually the developers are completely aware of what they're doing. Sometimes this is the only job you can get as a developer and you just have to suck it up because having a job is better than not having one. The devs aren't at fault for this but that doesn't mean we don't call it shovelware.

No on all of these. In fact no to the whole premise of turning a game into a movie.

If they're interesting in making new content that adds to a pre-existing games world then that's cool but adapting a game should be off limits. If anything this could be used to test the waters on returning franchises that have been shelved like Infamous or The Order 1886.

"who said I had no substance I can answer a basic question. It's pretty much forcing children to gamble."

See this is why I'm saying you don't have any substance. We've come up to issue number one which is 'what is gambling?'. If you're calling it gambling then why have numerous European regulators specifically said loot-boxes are not a form of gambling? Are trading cards and grabber toy machines now for...

"All right mate - I'll be nice and try and break it down again, just because a game is shown on the ms stage - doesn't mean Sony don't get mentioned when that game is talked about."

And? Why should I care? Is a Sony game being shown on that stage? No? Then Sony doesn't steal the show with it. Simple enough for you darling? I said Sony games in my original comment; not PlayStation games. Understand the difference.

At this point y...

You said they were Sony games and they're not. The article clearly asks the question can Sony steal the show without being there and talking about the PS5. That means all they have left is their own games. The multiplats you're referencing are not Sony games so Sony gets no credit for their presence at E3.

Give up with trying to redefine what counts as a Sony game because you're hitting fanboy levels of desperation with your reaching.

"Where do you think mulitiplats sell the most?"

Why should I care? In what way is this relevant to the conversation? Why are you trying to lump multiplats into Sony games when they're not made by Sony?
