After being out 3 years that's not very many decent games you've played. Me either though. Is the PS4 a better console than X1? Sure is. Does it sell well? Sure. But they both pale in comparison to the sheer amount of quality games we got previous gen.

It sure was. It was a love hate relationship with the 360 for me. PS3 was a far better built console but in retrospect I got far more gaming done on the 360. The heap of junk died but got replaced for free. Still have it in the shed.
They're not referring to the consoles abilities. By that metric the X1 is a better console than the 360 too.
Anyway for me the best console in no particular order was the SNES, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Original Xbox with XBMC, 360.
But the amount of quality games the PS2 had was something to behold. Compare that to the newer consoles and I really feel like we miss out these days.

You could argue "an even playing field" in competitive multi-player but a simple match filter would fix that. Besides that it's never truly and even playing field since people with lower ping times have an advantage. Some people still have 720p TVs.. Etc.
