LOL NO.
Haa! Same sentiment here. I use my hd600's for the DK2 and I can confirm, they deliver way more immersion than those dinky built-in headphones ever will.
Yeah I actually own a Oculus DK2 and even though its technically more advanced than Morpheus is right now, it still has areas that need to be improved upon in order to be consumer ready. This is why I'm a little worried about PM.
Sony's not going to be able to get away with launching a $200 lcd driven HMD.
I cant stress it enough that the execution has to be 100% flawless with VR or else people will reject it because it makes them ill.
It doesnt have enough resolution and only runs at 60hz with a standard lcd panel that isn't low persistence(motion blur). This will definitely make you sick. Its not up to par. Sony needs to delay it and fix this or its gonna flop like PS Move did.
You only need about half that amount for a high-end system (with everything included. Kb/mouse/headphones/controller /display).
Do yourself a favor and do your research first though before building. Set goals for what kind of performance you want your system to achieve first.
Lil tip I can give you is pick a display first then build your system to meet the demands of it.(1080p@60hz is a low/mid build. 1440p or 120/144hz requires higher end cards)
...
Glad you pointed that out. I am one of those people myself.
I keep seeing people on this thread saying these cards are overkill. They aren't overkill at all when you have a high resolution/high refresh rate display.
Oh snap!
VR can not be released to the public much the same half-baked way motion controls were.
It has to be absolutely as flawless as possible before the consumer version launches.
Challenges like input devices, movement to photon latency reduction(lag), judder, screen door effect(low resolution), increased frame-rate and proper software execution need to be solved first.
IV is 4. Final Fantasy 4, bro.
Many PC gamers are just former console gamers that have moved on to greener pastures.
the PC comMunity Are big rpg fanS in general. im surprised iT took sE this long to figuRe that out. times they aRe A Changing for surE;)
FFIV was released just yesterday on Steam. I'm diggin' the current Japanese games to Steam trend here lately.
Hopefully Kojima brings Silent Hills over too(you know he will);)
I like the fact that dx12 is forward compatible with gfx cards. Less need to upgrade our existing hardware. I might hold off on a gpu upgrade skip the 900 series and just wait for the following gen.
Been meaning on finishing this game again for old time sake. Might go ahead and install this mod.
Joel>Leon all day.
10/10 people agree that Destiny isn't a 10/10 kinda game. That's my observation thus far.
I don't buy the 'cinematic' argument. Cinemas show movies at 24fps not 30, anyway.
It pretty much boils down to what your brain has been conditioned to. 60fps is only jarring to you because you've been watching movies at 24fps your entire life and that's what your brain expects.
If the motion picture studios had decided use bigger film reels that used 60fps instead of 24, a hundred years ago, we would not be having this conversation right ...
I agree with Kojima. 60fps is more important to a gaming experience than 3D effects.
So much butthurt is these threads, lol.
Absolutely we will have photorealistic graphics in the next five years. Id say sooner. Lets see how MGS5 looks like in 4K when the PC version arrives.
The author is clearly a butthurt Xbox One fanboy.
