I was on the other side of the fence....I preferred Sega.... I could never take Mario serious. I liked the Sonic games and Mortal Kombat, but I was a huge Phantasy Star/ Shining Force fan as well. When the Sega CD came out with Sewer Shark and later Rebel Assault and Ecco the Dolphin it just made it that much better. Went on the get the Saturn (panzer dragoon series, sega rally/Daytona cce, and all the "virtua" games and Dreamcast as well....(Although I did trade my Saturn and all...
I decided to wait for the next gen version myself....I can hold out.... I am definitely waiting for the ps4 version of this as well as a few other games...the biggest being Gran Turismo 6. I just know that once I get the PS4 that most of my gaming time will be spent on it. As much as I have loved all of the Playstation systems of the past.....(from a personal point of view)it has always been hard for me to go back for any prolonged play after the next gen has come.
Tomb Raider was amazing....hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as Heavenly Sword. Both deserve a sequel...but, as mentioned above ...sometimes they don't find their audience ...doesn't mean they were bad games. Not sure why Tomb Raider didn't sell well...very impressive game and it was advertised and hyped. Word of mouth may save it ultimately. As for Heavenly Sword...it was the victim of poor advertising, an early one-sided console war (it would have more than likely bee...
@RM-Tato....
The launch lineup: is a matter of taste...killzone shadowfall and driveclub alone are better than anything the other system is offering, but that is my opinion.
PSN+ : is an excellent service and value....have never had any connectivity issues with it and the free games are icing on the cake.
Move/Kinect: In my experience of having the Move and Kinect... I honestly have to say that the Move had the best 1 to 1 motion track...
@ "thetruthx1" and Kuse-
The only facts that are relevant here are that Sony has a sexier, more powerful machine, better 1st party studios, exclusive experiences made by those studios, and ultimately a better vision of where gaming needs to go for the future.
@Mika: the Beta Looks and Plays amazingly. I was completely blown away by the fact that they were able to bring something that looks and plays this good to a handheld system. It doesn't feel clunky at all in my opinion. This is the first time that a shooter has truly felt like it's console counterpart ... The first few times I used the Van-Guards I couldn't believe I was on a handheld system. Guerrilla have truly lived up to my expectations....can not wait to play the campa...
@Sobotz ... it is apparent that you sir do Not own a Vita. The Killzone Mercenaries Online Only Beta would have knocked all of that silly 3DS nonsense out of your system in the first few seconds of gameplay. Not to mention all of the other titles that are miles and miles ahead of anything the 3DS could ever hope to do.
My advice....go grab one and actually play it :)
Haven't heard on the date yet, but hopefully not too long.
simple and best answer to the title question: Hows abouts NO!
I bought the pre-launch bundle and have been very impressed with the Vita. It is hands down the best handheld system ever made to date. Currently playing Dragons Crown and it is very sweet.....but, With Killzone Mercs coming early next month and Borderlands 2 on the way, those that waited should have enough incentive to go out and buy one now with the price cut (and the playstation plus instant game collection).
Pays for itself quickly :)
I agree with you Capt. I was impressed with the visuals and gameplay of Uncharted Golden Abyss, but there was no multiplayer there and the story was a little lacking. And I truly enjoyed the gameplay on CoD: Declassified (especialy after the patches) and Resistance: Burning Skies.... I truly hope that Killzone: Mercenary is the be all, end all shooter for Vita. It is still relatively early in the life cycle for this system....maybe time and true effort is all the developers need to make s...
I disagree with the opening statement here. The campaign of Resistance and the Single-player missions of CoD Black Ops Declassified are actually pretty decent .....especially for a handheld system. The multiplayer for both works and was actually a little more than I expected for a handheld multiplayer shooter....sure the maps and the player counts are smaller than their console brothers, but they do work.
However, I am hoping that Killzone: Mercenary is the shooter that matches up...
Always finish the Single Player campaign first. Multiplayer is just the icing on the cake.
Duke Nukem Time to Kill (PS1) had some funny 80's/90's-esque one-liners. My personal favorite line from that game was "Go to sleep.......permanently" :) Still use it today.
Marcus was the kid. I miss Mr. Butler as well...they could run on that for years.
I am sure that this and the full version of drive club will keep me plenty busy until infamous second son releases :)
I love the Gran Turismo series....have played each and every one into the ground. But, I do think Sony should have made this a PS4 launch title. I will be playing Killzone and DriveClub on launch day... Infamous a little later. Debating on picking GT6 up for my PS3......if they really are going to put it on the PS4....gonna be hard to not buy it though lol
Loved those movies and the latest Rambo flick was actually pretty damn good. If the gameplay is as good as the movie moments, I would let it slide on the graphics. Will probably pick this up just for nostalgia :)
It is really looking great so far. Wish there was some info on Epic weapons though. Seems like they have everything else moving in the right direction. Would love to see them make Class Specific Epics that scale with you as you level. Those old EQ epic quest lines were a lot of time and hard work. The end result should be the very best weapon for your class...scaling up as you level would be a nice way to ensure it stayed that way.
