Good review, even if you are an Xboxist (Jokes). Given that I have a bit of time and money on my hands, this could be a purchase for me over the holidays.
Trust me me mate, it really is worth it, and keep in mind I paid $60 Australian for it (30 pounds), then for a tenner it is the best value for money game ever.
Lol XDF, indeed it is, but I didn't play it originally on a high end P, in fact i played it on medium settings my first run through, but none-the-less, it was instantly my favourite game ever, graphics didn't play a part in that.
Now that I've maxed it out, i have to say i am awestruck, but it isn't why i love the game, but it is why i love Crytek - they are developers, the developer there own things, and don't just copy other peoples things, be it game engine, graphics, or gam...
YES!!! I lost R&C 1 for two years, and when i finally foudn it this year I went and bought a new PS2 controller just to play it (My other ones were broken from non use, and it was money well spent, let me tell you).
@Cranium:
I would really love this to be a 100+ hour game, so long as it remains fun, and doesn't force you to play for 100 hours. I bought Far Cry 2, think yay a game i'll be able to play offline for ages. As I got to hour #20, i pissed off out of there, and now for the first time in my gaming career, wish I had spent those hours, and the money purchasing the game differently.
Yay for trophies. I really didn't care about trophies until last month, when i finalyl picked up Bishock. I loved it so much, that i played it through with the sole purpose of gettign the Platinum trophy. So with Bioshock, and as of last Saturday, my first Platinum trophy, I am officially a trophy whore.
On a more serious note, Insomniac is a business, and business' need to make money. If they know what is godo for them, they will add trophy support to ToD and QfB. This will ge...
I don't see what you mean when you say people care to much about graphics these days. When every game has nearly the same uninspring gameplay, graphics are the one thing that, literally, stand out as different.
I hope UC2 can do more than just have good graphics, it will be a first day, hell, first hour purchase for me. But from what i've seen of gameplay, it all look a bit predetermined, much like the first one.
One thing that would be nice for Uncharted 2 is enemies that don't spawn. In Crysis (yes, Crysis again, sorry to be a fanboy), the enemies don't spawn, they are there for the entire time you are on a level. In Uncharted, its pretty lame when you round a bend, see a clearing without enemies in sight, and keep on moving.
Onl to find that moving ten metres forward spawns a group of enemies were before there were none. And they just keep spawning, and spawning. One thing though, at...
MW2, like CoD4, and WaW, looks like someone took a dump on the screen and added some (but not much) colour.
I love Sony, PS3, and Uncharted, but not Naughty Dog. They really need to make their games longer, and less linear. UC 2 does indeed look very nice, but why doesn't it run at 1080P?
Like all the other developers who think they're awesome, ND has said the game will run at a smooth 60FPS (who cares, games look the same at 40FPS as they do at 60). Surely then, they can add in native 1080p support, and still have a framerate thats more than stable by anyones measure.
There is no way that unless Crytek go broke, they will get bought out. They have been going on an aquisition spree lately, and now have 4 game developing studios and a few others that don't make games, and nearly 500 employees. You don't do that sort of thing if you plan on selling your business anytime soon.
Really, Australia isn't that bad on banning games. The only game banned that was any good was Fallout 3, for drug usage. They only had to change its name to get it in.

Sorry, can't happen because the X360 and PS3 for that matter use 2.5 inch HDD's, and the biggest is currently 500GB. Seeing as Microsoft charge US$150 for a 120GB HDD, they would likely charge in excess of the price of a PS3 for the hardrive alone. And really, what is the point, you could store more than 20 full 1080P movies on there, or download about 200 full games for the console. In short, its not worth it, unless the switch to 3.5" drives, which are much larger but cheaper and have ...
Having said that, what do you think the top 5 graphical console games are?
COD? Best graphics? Are you serious? I got the PC version of WAW, everything on high, loaded it up, and then checked that the computer hadn't reset the graphics level to low.
Eh on Uncharted. I'm so over that games graphics. As you can see if you read my user review from a while back here: http://n4g.com/Reviews/PS3/... I gave the game a handy 9.5 for graphics. But since then, I have awakened, and have realised, they very nearly suck.
The problem is with the textures, particularly rock/brick textures. They are massively over stilized, even to the point that they l...
MW 2 trailer was probably the worst in a long time, if for no other reason that it has popularised bad trailers, as can be seen by the other offerings on that site.
However, and I'm saying this, as you can tell by my avatar, as a Crysis fanboy, the Crysis 2 trailer was pretty bad.
Oh, and the guy above me, are you really trying to say that any of the six or seven trailers on that page well scripted, filmed or timed? What a joke.
I'd say you are right there, but I do agree with him. I found, especially in COD 5 that three things lessened the fun i had playing the game.
1: Dogs - on HC, it takes 1 bullet to kill a human, and at least 2 to kill a dog. wtf? And no, I'm not a noob who gets constantly owned by them, but i just think that it lowered the hardcoreness of hardcore.
2: Perks - didn't really overpower or give an unfair balance, realistically its not too hard to get to level 65 in ...
You Already Know, you are correct in saying that Uncharted 2 and COD can't be compared, but not because they are different genres. The reason they can't be compared is because Uncharted 2 isn't out yet. There is no reason that you can't compare games from different genres in terms of quality. For example, Killzone 2 is unquestionably a better game than Cricket 2006. inFamous is undoubtedly a better game than Far Cry 2.
If they think that this makes the PSPgo pointless then they have missed the point of it. The point of the go is to ditch UMD, UMD being the most complained about feature in gmaing history just about, and switching to a digital download only medium for game distribution. It is also meant to be smaller, actually making it portable. And btw, 16gb sticks have been around for ages.
Lol seriously, no sarcasm? Killzone 2 was longer than that article, and that's saying something.
Eg. "The melee system is not an instant kill but 3 successive melee's to a undamaged enemy is needed to kill them the melee's are much quicker than Halo so 3 is Killzone is 1 in Halo."
Written correctly this would sound something like this: The melee system is not a one hit kill as in Halo, and 3 succesive hits are required to take down an enemy from full he...
