Got uncharted 2 (platinumed it) and killzone 2, PC gamers are not missing out on much plus emulation in about 5 year will sort that out.
Most pirates I know only get the games to test as an extended demo.
On most games PC or console the demo actually make you not want the game.
If they like it they usually get the game on steam, Not all pirate keep the downloads.
Also I would argue resale and rental does more damage to developer/publisher because its money they are not getting (bigger kick in the balls)

Valve don't like 360 anymore than PS3, you console guys act like PC does not exists, Valve are PC only and 360 is a free cash cow.
There is no money on consoles for Valve, Microsoft payed for valve games where as if valve were to go ps3 they would have to buck the cost.
PS3 is not cost effective for valve and 360 would not be either if it was not for Microsoft's money.
