That everybody wants to see Sony not succeed this gen. In the end, the consumer will make their decision based on their experience. It may be today, it may be next year. But one thing stands solid and that is Sony's quality and commintment to great games. In the end, Sony will be a winner.

With the lowest price of any of the three consoles, you would think the 360 would be the number one selling console but it is not... Also, with a price tag of 200 less than the PS3 over the course of Q1, why is it that the 360 only outsold the PS3 by 100,000 and not millions? Sorry, but brand and quality have something to do with it perhaps. And now that Sony has their console in the right price range, we will see a huge boost in sales for the PS3.
Seeing as how when the 360 dropped down below 200, it did not spur sales of astronomical proportions. Of course, in the past, no price drop made any MS product fly out the doors of retailers around the world. That being said, it is typical of Sony products that when they drop in price, people come running. Perhaps we will see come next month.
Will tell you that next months NPD numbers will be huge for the PS3. You can bet that at this price, the PS3 will sell some solid numbers for the next few months through the holidays and on into next year.
As for the old SKU's, you can bet they will have sold a ton of them due to individual retailers selling them at sale prices just to make room for the new model next month. These retailers have only a couple weeks to make room and clear their stock rooms of the old SKU's and ...
Not at all. I prefer to play with 11 other people online in a single race having chosen from 1000 cars on a track selected from one of over 60 available at launch... Nope, no disappointment here.

Micro-transactions are the way the future is going. It's no commitment and easy to get into. Bite sized transactions make companies money while building faith from the public consumer, plain and simple.
And they would not. They have a source of revenue that is free to us to enter into and yet Sony continues to make money from us by way of small transactions. Movies, games, and Home all present Sony with revenue and they present us this avenue free by way of PSN. Online gaming should be free on all systems and those who charge for it should be ashamed.

It now matches all of the matte black hardware and entertainment center I have to accompany it. The 60gb PS3 I have will no go into my PC room and the new one will go on my entertainment center. Now all is the same matte black finish.
Can't wait to get home and DL that one. Looks like it will be a greta update.
