I actually agree with your sentiment, but this game began its development on PS4, two years before PS5's release, and thus isn't an example of last gen appeasement.
It was likely built on PS4 and up-ported to PS5 anyway. I don't expect too much of a difference between the versions; just performance and resolution. This is perfectly fine.
I hate squeeze-through-the-wall, but this game has likely been in development since the end of the first and was always going to bound by the constraints of the PS4.
But yeah, a continuation is fine by me.
🤦♂️
Nice. Loved the first game.
Gee, I wonder how that could've happened.
If it's anything like Thimbleweed Park I'm in.
I had no hope for this anyway.
I just did that. Everything being done is so satisfying.
I have no idea who any of these people are. I recognize the man who's with Kardashian though.
That's Ken?
Looks like Kurt Cobain.
Damn.
RIP.
I like it too, but let's be honest, no developer has even come close to what Team Asobi did with Astro's Playroom, and they probably never will - sorry to be cynical.
That's quite debatable but ok.
I liked the planning and puzzling of each encounter; thinking of what to use and how and when. It's stealth game with a good story and visuals. Quite a clever final boss fight as well.
The combat certainly wasn't amazing but it didn't have to be. Rat control felt a bit imprecise also. All in all a solid linear adventure in a highly detailed and interesting setting.
Looking forward to the sequel.
Linear games can't make the money that OW's can.
With open-world games every single bit of terrain; hill, mountain, road, forest, rocky outcropping, tower, etc is designed with microtransactions in mind. The larger the play area the more you can exploit the player's low patience with 'shortcut' microtransactions. Don't want to grind all day farming ore that respawns after 2 nights? @Spec
It only got better; a generational leap in graphics as you put. The only case for a *lower* score given that it's the same game made better is the omission of Factions. I think it's *unarguable* that it doesn't provide the generational graphical leap - if it does *anything* it does *that* and a little bit more.
I *do* understand why people would scoff at a third release of a single game, though.
This game will always be a 10 to me.
This game, by itself, is a masterpiece - just as it was in 2013.
@Also88
Because there's zero reason to give what's been dubbed as masterpiece a lower score when it's *only* been made *better* - it doesn't add up.
How could the same game depreciate when it's been made better?
I do wonder how loud these PS4s and PROs will get.
