Will definitely pick this up when I find it on sale...thinking $30-40.
Just noticed you mentioned Tales of Vesperia, I can't wait for the PS3 version with fully voiced characters and cutscenes! It's going to be great. Hoping they expand the multiplayer but even if they don't, the improvements definitely sound worth the double-dip.
My only beef with DS was in this day and age, I would REALLY like to be able to voice chat with WHOEVER it is I randomly summon.
EDIT: The world just felt extremely bland/empty with a blue phantom there, knowing they were a friend yet I couldn't even text chat them in the game. A simple voice chat would go a long way (I think) to help create a more community feeling.
Depends. FFXIII is actually quite repetitive. For the first 8 hours I was literally mashing the X (or A) button to get through battles. Very disappointing early on. If you have the patience, then give it a try, otherwise Oblivion (or Fallout 3) would be a great starter RPG-like game for a 'newb' :)
Oh, I totally agree with the balancing part. If the leveling isn't rewarding then I quickly lose interest in leveling up and usually as a result, the game. If it takes 3 hours to gain a level and I don't even get anything for it, then what's the point?
I remember putting in a good 5-10 hours grinding in The Legend of Dragoon, one of my first RPGs and I loved it, it was a fun game. Same can't be said with RPGs like Demon's Souls. Great game, but the constant grinding to get to certain places just killed it for me. A game like Fallout 3 however is completely different. You have a heavily focus shooter game with RPG elements and in the end I was fully leveled at about 65 hours in. Not once did I have to 'grind', I simply played...
That was posted earlier today, therefore the only conclusion I can make is that this current article is a ripoff. Especially considering the layout is almost exactly the same between the two posts.
Assassin's Creed 2 had a great soundtrack, too bad the game was a bit disappointing.
I really like the idea of being able to advance time to rust metal and kill enemies. Will have to wait to pick this up until next year. No budget left for games this year :(
There are a lot of players who are better than David Beckham. DB was great 10 years ago, now, not so much. Still a good player, but he can't compete some of the other guys of today.
GT5 will be a jack-of-all-trades, but a master of very few. F1 2010 is going to be THE game to goto if you are an F1 fan. Simple as that.
People also seem to forget that GT5 has been in development for almost 6 years while F1 2010 has been in development for about 2.5 years.
There's just something about the side-scrolling games that I don't like these days. I think it's the fact that I have to push up then quickly push forward if I want to go upstairs and things like that. Looking forward to the 3D version though :)
The problem is we care more about football than soccer, therefore it'll be on the back burner until we can get more teams and exposure here in the US.
Soccer is slowly catching on more and more over here in the States (and North America). MLS is getting more teams over the next couple of years, closing in on 20 teams. It should actually start getting a bit competitive finally, can't wait!
That said, it still amazes me how well EA has done with FIFA considering PES was THE soccer game to get a few years ago. Oh how quickly times change!
If it's within 7 days you can always return and re-buy.
Because I didn't hear anything good about 08. Heard 09 was good but figured I'd wait for 10 to come out and 9 to drop in price. Then I heard the same things about 10 so I waited again. This year I'm taking the plunge and getting 11 on launch day.
Ditto. I have so much money on pre-orders right now it's no funny. Thankfully there isn't that many games I would want to get right now.
I have my copy pre-ordered. Can't wait. I haven't played an NHL game since NHL 2K7...it's going to be like night and day :D
VERY well said. I was really looking forward to Halo: Reach. I put in over 400 hours into Halo 3 but I refuse to pay even more money to play games online. It's not even really about the money (it is), but more so the fact that Mircosoft is increasing the price we pay to play games online with friends. I can view Netflix online for free, on my PS3, for free, on my Wii for free, as well as Twitter and Facebook. Why am I paying extra for these things?
