Why bother, when you can already play the Wii game on the Wii U?

And here's superchiller, once more tilting windmills in his never ending crusade against anything Nintendo.

It's to the point where one need not even read his comments. If you have read one, you have read them all. It is the same list of reasons, repeated ad nauseam.

Way to spin a disc-drive-less patent news article with no correlation with the NX into a negative aspect that affects an entire company.

Don't rely on baseless rumors. Rely on announcements from the company. You know, like you would with Sony or Microsoft or any other game developer.

While I agree that there is no guarantee it will be out in 2016, the author goes even further and says that it may not come out for the Wii U at all.

Why accept the announced release dates for every other game and then not accept both the Zelda release date of "2016" and the announcement that it will be on the Wii U? Sure it could be delayed once more, but other games may as well, and announced release dates are the only way for the author to pick what games are co...

The 'no game' argument, while valid when first released, currently holds no weight in rating the system. After all, one can hardly give it any credence at all when they look at the Wii U's library and see how absurd 'no third party' and 'little first party' sound.

Maybe the games aren't for you. But you cannot trash the system by saying the games don't exist.

Nintendo working on new hardware does not mean the Wii U is dead.

After all, do you really think Sony and Microsoft aren't currently working on their next console? Are their current consoles dead?

Also, dead consoles do not still have a decent release schedule.

Honestly, if you bought a Wii U for the incredible graphics, you made a poor decision.

The fact that there is so much discussion concerning the graphics of a Wii U game... makes me feel as if all the people complaining either made that poor decision or do not own a Wii U.

And saying it looks like a PS2 game is really stretching it.

how does that make any sense?

@Superchiller

$300 ($200 refurbished) does not equate to a high price.

The library available on the Wii U does not equate to your very inspecific quantity of a 'small handful'.

Stop trying to talk trash using easily refutable 'facts' and opinion.

Well, you see, there hasn't been a good ol' Nintendo Bash article in quite some time, and things had been so quiescent of late that they thought the time was ripe for some lively discussion.

Though by lively discussion, they mean shameless Nintendo bashing and an unending wave of Disagree votes for those that try to actually, you know, discuss things, or, heavens!, actually support the console or point out incorrect information being taken as fact!

Nintendo themselves have already stated they wish to 'ditch the stupid region locking'. So a point for you!

If we're talking power, hardly see how releasing low-end computers has 'moved the industry forward', as you say the PS4 and XboxOne have. If we're talking extra features, I'd say PS4 and XboxOne have some merit but that a PC still outdoes them. If we're talking interface, I'd say the Wii U wins out as their gamepad, despite undeser...

The only closed minds are those that latch on to the same tired arguments year after year to bludgeon Nintendo's reputation, and will not see any good feature about any hardware they put out.

You seem to be way too invested in the power of a system, whether it has the stigma of a 'gimmick' attached, and how 'childish' it looks (really? we're judging on LOOKS now?).

From the criteria you are judging their consoles by I really doubt anything Nintendo does, outside of becoming clones of the other two system makers, will be enough. I mean, you just stated you look at a CUBE and judge it as childish; I doubt any Nintendo franchise will attract som...

While this is the first time I have heard of Game Sharing (really? What ever happened to buy your own d*mn games?), great online is subjective (how do you qualify it? For me, onlines games have a good connection, I can surf the internet easily, and I can watch videos via Youtube, Amazon Instant, and Netflix: I'd say that's pretty good), an achievement system is lacking (point for you!), and third party support pretty much killed itself off with late ports, buggy ports, delays of var...

Ah, Superchiller. Came fresh from replying to you in another post only to find you the first comment on this as well. Have at thee!

Given how rampant video game piracy was during the 'old days', they had good reason to be wary. While they had reason then, Nintendo has stated that A) they would like to be rid of region locking and B) they are taking steps for a unified account system. So they are already acting on this.

Now on to your aspersions. ...

@ Superchiller

You never fail to deviate from your party line, do you? In all your posts you present the Wii U as a non-entity, a complete failure on the part of Nintendo, never conceding even a single good point about the system. Nothing is entirely good or bad and your refusal to even consider the good indicates, to me at least (warning: opinion), that your tirades stem from an outright dislike or hatred of Nintendo itself.

You give nothing but excuses an...

While I could not read the article due to '404: page not found', and a quick google search did not turn up anything, I will say this: It has always bothered me the amount of flak the name 'Wii U' got.

Going from the Wii to Wii U is no more difficult to comprehend than going from Xbox360 to XboxOne.

I would blame the advertising, if anything. There wasn't much of it in North America, and I imagine the popularity of the Wii actually worked...

Only issue I have is stating third parties do not port because the audience of the Wii U is not looking to buy their games.

Third parties damaged their reputation with Wii U owners the first year or two the console was out. Console owners were subject to stunts like leaving game modes out, announcing months-long delays (to get other versions out sooner or allow other versions to release in sync with the Wii U version), announcing there will be no further support via DLC, &a...

Your post is full of opinions presented as facts.

They said they will reveal more about the console at E3 2016. While this will most likely come with a release date, there is no way to know if it is in 2016 or, more specifically, in Nov 2016.

Nor have they ever said they do not want to support their own platform. They have, in fact, stated they will continue to support the Wii U after the release of the NX.

Believe these statements or n...
