They never said that 8GB of ram "was low." They said in the future they will be hurting for RAM again just like on last gen. That's absolutely true if games continue to progress, which they will. And Crytek's games DO run well over 30 frames a second and stable, you just need a decked out PC. If you don't like there games here's a crazy idea, don't play them or even spend time thinking about them.
Right, and all the consoles are just more powerful Apple IIs.
There's basically no gameplay that we've seen. It's a bit premature to say that the game is only about graphics.
I hope they let you download it for free on the PS4 if you already bought it on the PS3, but I doubt they will :/
Delays can be good or bad. Sometimes it helps get the game that extra polish to make it a must have and sometimes you wait 14 years for a game that's complete garbage.
Look up driver and OS overhead and their impact on PC games. There are so many layers of abstraction between the game and the hardware that it's incredibly hard to actually optimize for games. Performance improvements will come with time.
Yeah, that's the first thing I thought when I saw that article too. It does certainly set the bar for graphical fidelity of third party open world games though.
Yes but consoles have the HUGE advantage of insane optimization on software so you don't have to brute force things like on PC.
I won't because I'm not overly in to racing games, but it looks really cool and I can't wait for the PlayStation+ version.
Which is strange because they said mid-range GPUs can run it on Ultra for the PC.
It's Ubisoft, it's entirely likely instead of spending the time to make a new character model they just slightly changed Desmond's face.
The quality of their games is irrelevant when talking about the technical part of game design. 8GB will be a limitation in the future for games.
Microsoft already does this with Azure on the PC. Their cloud network for the Xbone is literally just Azure so it wouldn't be hard for them to implement on a technical level. They would need to add more servers basically everywhere though because there aren't a lot of them and latency is VERY important for something like that.
Believe it or not, gamers can be interested in technology without needing to write software. I also dabble in code and work with hardware and software so there's a good reason.
I know you're trolling but be better at it.
When they stop being important, so never as far as frame rate goes. Resolution is important but not overly so and can be overlooked in most cases.
Those two statements can't be used to describe one thing.
Having an architecture similar to a super computer doesn't imply it's as powerful as a super computer.
Right, that's why games sell better on PC smh
This asshole should try to make a software emulator for the Xbox One and PS4 that works flawlessly on every Xbox 360 and PS3 game retrospectively without any of the hardware in the console. It's not really possible, especially because of the VAST architectural changes. The shift from PowerPC to X86 alone is enough to cause massive issues. Then add the Cell CPU on the PS3 on too of that.
