Maxing out a console isn't hard. It doesn't mean games can't look better, it just means that that with their current technology they are making the system run at 100%. Gears 1 maxed the 360 out but later games looked better.

Steam OS is literally just Linux. Valve isn't competing with Microsoft in the OS space.
The Xbox One is selling quite well for Microsoft, not sure why all these articles are popping up that they're doomed. They have more money in the bank than Sony when they were launching the PS3 and we all know how that went.
It helped sell me a PS4, that and Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica. Although the $100 less than an Xbox One didn't hurt. I'll get an Xbox One eventually though for my Halo and maybe Gears.
Sony uses OpenGL on the PS4. They didn't develop it themselves and it is a very common API. It's actually what OSX uses.
That's just what dedicated servers do. You don't need Azure for that. In fact there are MUCH better dedicated servers.
Actually they didn't change it to 8GB at the last minute. That's not something you can change at the last minute. While they originally were using a gig for OS stuff when the amount of resources they could alocate to the OS went up they created an OS with a bigger footprint. An example of a last minute change would be the small boost in clock speed the Xbone got on the CPU and GPU.

Do you realize that steam machines are literally just PCs with Linux installed? There's nothing special about them. Also the only thing Sony puts behind a pay wall is online multiplayer. The PS4 will sell more then the PS3.

That seems insane seeing as Battlefield 4 ran at 900p. Yes it was a buggy horrible mess but graphically it was much more demanding and the multiplayer supported 64 players so...

It will have absolutely no effect on the Xbox One or the PS4. Since they are game consoles developers already have complete access to the hardware. This is only a new thing on the PC, consoles have had this from the very first one. That's the biggest benefit of having a completely closed platform.

You're an idiot if you think a framerate that constantly moves up and down is a good thing. Rock solid 30 frames a second is way better then a framerate that jumps up and down all the time.
