I'm glad I have all current gen systems so I don't have to wait for the petty console "war" crap and play the games when I choose. But I have to admit, Rise of the Tomb Raider is an amazing game. I've never played a Fallout game and don't intend to so that release date had no effect on me as I'm sure lots of other gamers are the same as I. I believe it's the small install base of the X1. Not every owner will purchase Tomb Raider, maybe 20%? Take that in to ac...
I own all three current gen consoles. PS4 at launch, X1 at price drop and the Wii U a few weeks ago. I'm not a homer at all, I'm a gamer and love the entertainment they offer. Each has great exclusives that I don't want to pass up. I agree tho, why wait to buy the new hardware? Games are made for both gens but look and play better on current gen. I don't understand the whole "wait til something comes out that I want" argument. Doesn't make sense, why wait? You...
I am absolutely loving this game, a definite runner for top game of this gen for me. I think it brings the Uncharted element to Xbox of exploration and discovery. The challenges are tough but not impossible. The graphics are fine and I havent experienced any framerate issues that are noticable. People just want to find something to complain about instead of enjoying the games these days.
@Canthar,
I agree with what you said. I also will now pass on both Star Wars and Siege because of the MP only route they are taking.
This is exactly how I feel. I loved the first 10 missions or so and now it's just so damn repetitive. Lots of open world games this gen for me to try and I have to admit, this may be the last one I buy.
The price will not be seven times more than 1080p sets, that's a business model for failure. Double the price? Maybe, close to $1200 at the most IMO. If it's more than that they can kiss VR goodbye, not many people will fork over that kind of money.
Can't wait to she what Cliff B is bringing to the table. Loved how he introduced us all to the Gears universe, hopefully he does the same here with something new.
I'm definitely getting this game, question is, for PS4 or X1. Not sure which controller I prefer for Batman games.
That gameplay just sold me, I'm definitely preordering this.
What do some of you expect to get on the PS4? It's still early in it's life cycle and some of you want full blown AAA games. The PS3 had been around for 10 times longer, of course it will get better games. It's unrealistic for some of the expectations that some gamers have for the PS4s free games.
This is great news! I love the Gears series and am ready for a current gen Gears. I agree with the above, the original Gears was such a stand out game and I still have memories from playing it, closing Locusts holes with grenades, the sound of the Locusts communicating and my first ever co-op experience! Can't wait for more news on this.
I appreciate the time for the review you gave. As for me I can't seem get into this game. I get bored rather quickly, run, complete a task, run some more, complete task, and run some more. It gets very repetitive IMO. I haven't played co-op yet tho so maybe that's where the true fun lies, I'll try that tonight and see how it changes the game for me.
Overall, I agree with the list besides Watchdogs. I really enjoyed that game. A ton of people complained about the ability to drive vehicles and how horrible it was, well, I found it to be perfectly fine. When people complain about it, it makes me wonder if they actually played the game long enough to write a proper review or just suck at driving vehicles in a game, period. I hope they make a second one.
Thanks for an honest review, not one to stir up people for clicks. When I saw the score you gave, I had to read it. I also gave the game a high score, 8.5. I loved every bit of it, there wasn't much to complain about. I knew what I was getting in to and took me about 8 hours to beat it on hard, I explored the world presented to me and found hidden chests and items along the journey. I hope they do male a sequel and expand on the Knights story in London and possibly beyond. Glad I bought i...
If you own a PS4 I'd recommend this game, it's gorgeous. The gun play is solid and the weapons are the only of their kind. It's an awesome game.
I didn't read the article, nor do I want to but I'm here just to give my opinion on the game.
I absolutely enjoyed it. It was slow in the beginning but during the campaign the pace picked up a lot, there were some really awesome weaponry, amazing cinematic scenes, great story, beautiful scenery and smooth gun play. I enjoyed the heck out of it and feel that my $60 was well spent. I beat it last night playing on hard difficulty, for about a total of 9-10 hours of play...
Since when did Metacritic become the end all of game reviews? I won't take their OPINION on a game, ever. I'll use my own judgement. I've yet to buy or not buy a game based on reviews of some journalist, afterall, all they are is one person with an opinion.
And this is why they are considered the best there is by many gamers out there. They really care about the quality of their product and will not release something half a$$ed. Major props to Naughty Dog!
That's pretty cool, but I don't even know how to get to the zombie gameplay! I loved the zombies in the other CoD's and would love to play this version. Help!!!
@DoctorFraud,
I read an article in GameInformer, SCEA is stating it will cost around the price of a new console. I'm guessing the price will be around $299. If it's even $350 I'm still buying it. This is the type of tech I've been waiting for since I was a teenager, which is 17 years ago. I'm a gaming tech nerd and I can't wait to have this next year.
