Nintendo was very stubborn and greedy, they refused to cut the price of the Wii U to try to keep their profits up. They really are a very arrogant company.
I wouldn't even pay $100 for one in the bargain bin. Maybe $50 or so max, just to get a few laughs.
RIP Wii U, let's hope Nintendo put more effort into their next gaming system, whatever that is.
What does the dpad have to do with Nintendo's modern day gimmicks, like fake 3D on the 3DS, waggle controls on the Wii, and the distracting, oversized, awkward gamepad on the Wii U? Nothing at all.
Stop trying to point to old features to justify Nintendo's recent poor gimmicks, it just doesn't work.
Both the Wii and Wii U damaged Nintendo's reputation by failing to deliver diverse, quality gaming libraries and solid gaming hardware. The Wii died years before the competition when the waggle fad fizzled out, and the Wii U just never took off due to a poorly thought out gimmick (the bulky gamepad).
As for your comment about "holographic" games, that's really not happening with current technology, and Nintendo is well known for being way behind the curve ...
Always this company is desperately seeking the next big gimmick to try to reel people in. Sadly they will never repeat the success of the Wii, but that system actually did a huge amount of damage to their reputation.
These are great games, glad they're both coming to XB1. Everyone who likes these kinds of games should have a chance to play them.
Zero interest in FMV-based games. They were absolutely awful back in the days of the 3DO, and I doubt that has changed much (other than better video quality). No thanks.
Obviously Nintendo Is not at all confident in the NX, they are afraid to even announce it only 6 months from release. They probably also have very few 3rd party developers on board to develop games for it, which means the system will be yet another one with a meager library of mostly Nintendo-only games.
It's cross buy for Vita/PS4 too, a nice plus for the game. The Vita version won't release until November though.
And it's coming out for the Vita as well, cross buy. I'm strongly considering getting it based on that, love these kinds of games.
More console sales = more games developed for that console, less sales = less games. So really, it does matter (to some extent). Sales certainly aren't everything though, there are several other factors that matter.
Meanwhile they're swirling around the bowl before being flushed down for good. It doesn't matter what Reggie says, he's a tool who has no clue about gaming.
What a bunch of hogwash. Keep selling yourself that kind of nonsense, meanwhile actual gamers will focus on the great 8th generation consoles that are delivering fantastic games (PS4 and XB1).
Lately, their attempts at "trying something new" have been embarrassingly bad. Both the Wii and Wii U were poorly designed, feature-lacking consoles ruined by gimmicks. It's doubtful that Nintendo can change their approach to gaming hardware anymore, they're too obsessed with gimmicks to try to set themselves apart.
Meanwhile the game is getting very high scores everywhere else, right here on N4G there are several 9.5 and 10 scores (95-100). This website is just trolling for clicks, nothing more. Just don't click on it and move on.
I'm a huge fan of shmups, and was looking forward to the game's release on PS4 and Vita. But the developers decided to release the games at full retail price in North America, but digital only? If they released physically I would have bought both versions Day One, but as digital only games I will just wait for a deep discount. There's no excuse for not getting physical releases for these games in North America.
Except they are in direct competition with Sony and MS, no matter how many times they claim otherwise. It's competition for gamers and the limited funds they have to spend on this hobby, not some entirely new or different market of people.
Looks like a trash game, no surprise.
I agree, hopefully this will help kill off Oculus and boost the sales/success of PSVR. Keep up the good work Palmer!
