the developer responsible for some of the greatest games ever made needs to shut their mouths because ps3 fanboys know more than they do about the gaming industry. wow n4g is getting more and more lame. what a pathetic article
Valve doesn't "go around" trash talking ps3. you see, there this is thing out there called journalism. and within the journalism community there are these people called journalists. and well...it's their job to get news for their respective companies. they do this by conducting interviews with various members of the gaming community. and one of the things they often do during an interview is ask questions. and often those questions may sound like this. "how do you feel a...
where's the petition? i'll sign it. not that i ever intended to spend money on ANY call of duty game in the first place, but listening to all this BS spin makes me sick to my ass.
"To our dumbass customers: We believe you are retarded. So retarded, in fact, that we will constantly repackage the same game with limited content changes and continue to increase prices. We know you will still buy anything no matter how mundane as long as it is completely overhyped so we're g...
it needs destructible environments. you should be able to bring the buildings and bridges down like in red faction.
and the world needs to be more influenced by your actions. if you go on a rampage in a certain area, people shouldn't goto that area as much for a while, and you should be able to hear about your actions on the radio, like "15 people were gunned down today by an unknown assailant in <something> park. Police are advising citizens of liberty city to avo...
i know you think you're very smart, and being a corporate slave is doing wonders for your social life.
but umm...left 4 dead???
we held valve to their word about additional content for l4d and we got a free new campaign (albeit a short one) for the game.
I don't know that the petition will do anything as console gamers are the majority at this point, and they are so desperate for good games that they'll pretty much buy anything that is over-marketed or o...
this is like asking if a pay increase at work is of the same quality as a BJ from a chic with no gag reflexes. Sure, both result in a raise, but they aren't at all related.
you guys need to read the article. the title doesn't mean it is not able to become a killzone 2. if you just read the title then comment, what are you actually commenting on? the implication of the title, based on the majority of the comments, is that you all think the author thinks uncharted 2 can't do what killzone 2 did. what the author is actually saying is that uncharted 2 can't end up like killzone 2...it needs to do better. he's saying that uncharted needs to have great sales, not...
"in the past, most of the ppl said the world was flat, however they soon realized they were wrong. "
that is so profound. lol.
"1.11 - As I always said... White bread sells more, black bread sells less... We all know black (dark) bread is healthier, longer lasting and tastier. ;) "
Maybe the dumbest thing i've read on n4g. though the other comment is certainly in the running.
but doesn't anyone find it funny that when a 360 title gets a low score from a no-name site then suddenly that site is NOT a no name site. but if a ps3 exclusive gets a low score from ign or gamespot, they're bought off and bias??? i'm so sick of the hypocrisy. however, on the topic of ODST, i don't find fault with the review. i'm a huge halo fan and i have NO interest in ODST. they really are milking the franchise.
EDIT: The console war only exists in the minds of the ppl ...
just when you thought n4g had enough old news posing as new news (or just...news), we get an article about something for which there have been hundreds of videos on youtube for years.
i've been doing my best to stay out of this bickering back and forth about what's worth money and what's not. personally, i think it's a matter of perspective, and further, i think odst probably isn't worth 60 dollars. BUT, i don't really see anyone making this claim about call of duty. and i think it's odd because the first cod 4 is loved by many and it's campaign took me about 6 hours on hard and i bet one hour of that was spent doing that damn last section of the sniper level over and o...
xbox is the only one that he can say and maintain flow while sounding trendy. if he said ps3, a lot of ppl would have no idea. if he said playstation, it would take too long. if he said wii, old ppl would take that completely the wrong way.
xbox sounds like a video game system. even if you don't know anything about games, you probably would still associate that word in the context it's being used with the intended meaning.
i know what you're talking about...you just didn't read my statement carefully. with consoles becoming the focus... that means developers won't have to worry about pushing technology. they can just stay where they are. when pc was the main platform for shooters (which are usually the games that push the graphics), the developers were trying to outdo each other. but now that it's shifting to console, they can only do so much, and since that means less money invested in progress, they will...
unfortunately, with consoles becoming the main focus for production now, we won't sleep big leaps and progress like we've seen up to this point. crysis is over 2 years old and it's still the top of the line. i predict that the next generation of consoles probably won't hit til 2012 and they will probably still only be on par with crysis...maybe slightly better...maybe :(
as gaming moves toward consoles, you can bet you'll see them continue to get more and more expensive. even this gen ps3 started at 500-600. Next gen who knows. 700? then games keep going up in price on console as well. 20% increase over the last generation from 50-60 dollars (and talks of another increase?). but on pc, games stayed at 50 dollars. an, in some cases, are often cheaper thanks to things like Steam. Also consider that PC gaming has better graphics and you can use a control...
like the system that is in most mmos and some other games. where you need to pick up health or consume something to regen quickly. but it still always very slowly regens. that to me seems to be a good compromise and works well in most places where it is implemented.
