Phantom Dust is confirmed as not being worked on.
Xbox fans sure make a fuss about the nothing games. Crackdown 2 didn't go/sell well, yet crackdown is suddenly a banner franchise (and don't get me wrong, I really like the first one).
How many Forza games can you buy before fatigue sets in?
Gears will likely be good.
Scalebound us unknown quantity.
Plus, there are not a lot of MS devs left to announce anything.
Still annoys me that people commenting on the games industry can't be bothered to learn VR and AR. They are not the same.
I think he's done a great job. Xbox would he near dead without him.
However, credited him for games like Halo 5, Fable and Forza launching shows very little understanding of how games are made. They had a strong E3
The interview I watched, he said he picked up wrong pad. They had 2 running, he picked up back up pad, they had to switch feeds. Big deal.
Uncharted isn't actually more of the same. Read/ listen to interviews and the behind closed doors demo. They are changing quite a lot in game play terms.
Why do you need exclusives to play games? Q4 is stuffed with games. AAA quality games.. I'd rather have my exclusives at quiet times. MS exclusives may hurt their end party sales, and lots of big 3rd party games may hurt their sales too.
Gap widens on 3rd party sales, Sony benefits. Games like Fable or Tomb Raider don't show big numbers, MS suffers. Better to be clear of those big Hitters.
Plus, Sony have loads of smaller high quality games you night sque...
This could be signalling the slow end to Xbox console. I'll happily play all the Xbox exclusives I'd consider for XB1 on my PC. They'll look better and I can use DS4 pad. No need to buy the console or subscribe to Live.
PS Eye had that mic array tech well before Kinect. You only need noise cancelling, directional mic for across a room. Head mic can do any of it. Don't buy the bullshit.
I remember the Phantom Dust excitement from Xbox fans. ANY Xbox exclusive gets heralded as the 2nd coming, then doesn't sell that many. Just Halo/ Gears and 3rd party
Did you see PlayStation list for 2016? You think that list is close? Crackdown is not a big hitter( and I loved first one), Scalebound isn't either. Even Quantum Break is unproven, and comes off the back of Alan Wake not shifting units. Sea of Pirates won't do well with the narrow minded Xbox fans. This year's XB exclusives may pay for a strong 3rd party Q4. Big Hitters.
And in trolling PlayStation, you just serve to show why they look down on Xbox fans. Bet you may watch Michael Bay films too.
RIGS is a game. The Heist looks like it's becoming one.
I don't think we should underestimate make power of 3+ viable formats in VR. Less risk to do multiformat games
Yeah, I guess without a few exclusives, there's not a lot to play this Q4. Not like it's stuffed the gills with killer AAA, is it? :-)
No it won't. Surely 360 game sales prive people want games, exclusivity only relevant to certain people. If someone is aa real Halo fan (but not COD or Star Wars) but hasn't bought XB1 yet, that will tip them over. Any Forza fans who haven't bought XB1? By 3rd game in 2 years? Fable doesn't move the needle. Tomb Raider might shift some.
I don't think PlayStation buyers of players will be wondering where the games are Q4, do you?
This 3D is like VR stuff can only be said by someone who hadn't used VR. Not even in the the ballpark
I think you'll find there are LOADS of games Q4. People actually just want good stuff to play. Exclusives better at quiet times, when there aren't 5 or 6 mega AAA 3rd party. What will happen to Fable, Forza will sell to the same bunch each time, and Halo will take sales from 3rd party, further strengthening PlayStation 3rd party sales and relationships.
Then MS will have shot all their killer titles for a year.
PlayStation fans have loads to play Q4, and early ...
That's not good. I have another concern(and 1 I had with Kinect, correctly).
How does it form a compelling PLAY experience? With VR, gaming usage is obvious. So many ways to use it(especially with the screen/ Morpheus combo multiplayer).
How can AR be played. Minecraft LOOKED cool, but once that novelty factor is gone, what's left,?
Both Sony and MS had very good E3s. No one really loses. However, BC is not a game changer. Most metrics show BC actually doesn't get used that much. I used it twice on PS3, and once on PS 2. Total.
The interesting bit, is MS moving more and more to PC. I could see them folding Xbox into PC entirely. You may actually be looking at moves to get rid of a dedicated Xbox console, long term. Time will tell.
Plus, if BC is your biggest announcement, you maybe conf...
But will it having compelling Play elements. All I've seen so far is demos that are barely interactive. That is not something that will be compelling long term. I'm thinking Kinect 3.0 at the moment. Demos are always impressive with new tech, but doesn't mean it will work well for games.
Actually Shuhei Yoshida is pretty happy where they are, and they had to reject showings from 3rd and 1st party at E3, and only show the 20 games /demos in pods.
