I never understood the draw of achievements - not that they're bad - but they seem rather pointless. Say what you will, but in my opinion, unless Nintendo reinvents the use of the achievement system then it will continue to feel like hollow bragging rights.

What will Sony do? Nothing. They've won already by the margin. As for the resolution battle, it's never mattered. Sure, there are a few graphics whores out there (on all sides), but you buy a console for the games and everyone knows that.

Nothing to worry about this late in the game. If there's anything that will interesting it's going to these mid-gen launches and their affect on the actual next iteration of consoles.

Multiple platforms is where the money is these days, maybe now more than ever. This is what happens when so much of the fanbase is shared between the two platforms because both consoles want the same demographic.

I like the cinematic genre (or whatever we want to call it) to a degree, so I'm glad they're in the minority. Mainly because in some cases it's hard for a developer to find a balance between gameplay and story, which turns the game into an interactive movie with next to no replay value, in my opinion.

I'm sure it's still around, but honestly the last time I saw one in the wild it was months after launch and along with its disappearance all the talk I had heard about it from fellow gamers.
So I'm sure it's well enough if that's your weapon of choice, because you're keeping up with it, but to a lot of other gamers it's drowning and no can hear it splashing; up to and including Sony.
