RE5 on 360 had screen tearing while ps3 had none, most games like Fallout, Skyrim, Vanquish, GTa4, Red Dead, and many many more all have screen tearing issues that are a huge blight on the game. Every one of those games I just mentioned has zero screen tearing on PS3. Not saying PS3 has no games that screen tear because Dead Rising 2 is a joke on PS3 with the screen tearing, it's horrible. I went out of my way to pick up the tear free v synced 360 version with that game. I own both system...

Both games have amazing music, Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. I really enjoyed the music for Sif's battle in Dark Souls, it felt like a morose fairytale.

I absolutely adore the art style of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. I care much more about the art style of a game.

I'll buy it if the game isn't filled with rampant screen tearing like the first one was.

Why are people still buying Halo games and Mario games?

5028d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

don't bother, you obviously suck at gaming if you can't learn the mechanics to succeed at the game.

The only people buying this will be the Halo losers that are in their mid 20's to early 30's and still living in their parent's basement. It's gotta be nice to have no bills and buy stupid shit like this, ahhh reality.....

We need more games like Demon's Souls, they reinvented mp in 2009.

You mean like Call of Duty 4, the game had a phenomenal SP and they reinvented MP with that game. It's a masterpiece in FPS game development in my opinion.

Biggest reason for me aside from fun factor: 60FPS butter smooth gameplay with zero screen tearing on console with COD unlike battlefield 3 which is filled with rampant screen tearing and runs at an abysmal 30FPS.

Yes, but add that into the difficulty of the game itself and it makes it harder than Demon's Souls. Imagine you had no way of accessing the internet to "find your way," that's half the complexity with the game. Honestly, exploration is half the fun and looking up where to go is ruining your experience somewhat.

I disagree about DS and DkS, they are genuinely hard games unless all you do is sit home and play games all day long. Even then, to complete them with no help requires skill, patience, strategy, and the ability to recognize patterns in boss battles where one mistake results in almost instant death. They are definitely harder than the average game.

If I like a game enough, there's no way I won't complete it. Demon's Souls initially took me 200+ hous to complete one playthrough, after selling the game and buying it back a few times in frustration. I didn't use a single walkthrough, guide, youtube vid, the wiki at all for help. It was the purest gaming experience I have had this gen and it's something I'll never forget. Numerous times I thought I would never complete the game but I eventually conquered it. Same thi...

Well, I don't buy games that have screen tearing, period. It's the sign of lazy developing skills and if the devs don't give a shit, neither do I and I won't purchase the game. I love these comparisons, keep up the good work Digital Foundry! Next up should be the Darksiders 2 comparison.

How could you have nothing to play?? There are so many games on PS3 that I bet you haven't played. Between PSN games and retail releases, there's always something to play.

Dark Souls came out October 4, 2011. It had two patches and it will still be a better game than Diablo 3 after twenty patches.

I love Demon's Souls and Dark Souls' difficulty. At times, it seems like a boss is impossible and you may be stuck there forever, but with a little perserverance and strategization, progress comes inevitably. Faster for some than others, but it does come eventually.

Considering they had the foresight to publish a game like Demon's Souls in 2009 and M$ never published anything remotely close, I'd say they understand gaming a hell of a lot better than M$ or Nintendo even. SONY has released nothing but a huge slew of exclusives this gen that cater to all audiences, no one can logically disagree with that.
