I have a gaming PC, 360, and PS3, and I got it for my Wii U.
Who cares what console someone gets it for?
I got it for Wii U because I think that the Wii remote controls are exceptionally accurate. It's just my preference.
That said, I think the only other real contenders for other versions are PC and Xbox as the PS3 version is notoriously buggy because developers can be really lazy with the cell processor.

I mean they sold 100 million consoles, and 150 million handhelds, and on the software side Mario Kart Wii sold 33 million copies, New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 26 million, Pokemon diamond sold 18 million. These are not small numbers.

The extra chip isn't powerful enough for encoding, the extra chip is for background tasks like updating/downloading/uploading .
Only Call of Duty and Nintendo games seem to actually be 60fps these days.
