Sounds like they really weren't expecting the game to perform.
As Justindark already started, fanboys like you really make Nintendo fans look bad. Maybe you could say that Mario Kart puts other similarly styled racers to shame... but across genres you can not make such a generalized statement. Most titles don't put other titles to shame because most titles are different and have to be compared within their own context.

Should probably add Wii U in there. that way you'll have all the best or most innovative multiplats, and hands down best exclusives. Pretty sure I can live without Xbox One exclusives.
Duh. All of the current gen consoles were mid range PCs when first announced, and it has been one year for some, 2 years for others. And in that time, those consoles have gone from mid to low. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.
