RIP SOCOM... can't wait for H-Hour
It takes someone with a high level of confidence to dress like that... all the 'strong' people I know are strong because of that confidence. Who are you to judge someone who would dress like that as not being 'strong'?
That first one you listed sounds the most neutral actually but is anyone seriously taking issue with the wording?
Any sensible person would realize that having a limit of 4 is the most practical option in almost every case. Also the wording used could directly compare it against the PS3 so I don't find that wording is unfair either.
On the other hand there are the 3rd party publishers that are notoriously lazy/risk adverse and unwilling to work with it that would have an incentive to develop for the system if there were a larger install base...
It would be a risky move if Nintendo were to do it though as they would have to market very carefully and clearly which games would use the gamepad and which ones wouldn't... idk I have a mixed bag of feelings on this one.
@ajames347
Yes, for someone mature enough to handle properly it there shouldn't have any durability issues with either model. I'm not saying that it will be prone to breaking under normal circumstances but I have noticed a few people defending its design by saying the target market is small children.
At that price I would be interested in it due to some of the exclusives but at the moment I don't see what else it really offers. (also there is the 1st party...
Vita is priced right where it should be... memory cards are kinda high. 2DS is a wedged openface design for $129.99 when you can buy a first party refurbished 3DS with warranty for the same price.
The idea of a cheaper 2D entry model is a great idea and that's a nice price but the design is just awful aesthetically. The openface design is also merely trading broken hinges for broken screens. I don't see how this would offer a large enough increase in durability.
Right now 1st party refurbished 3DS also runs for $129.99 and they have it in pimp purple.
That was well worth it back when DLC wasn't planned money grabs... when the fans make the DLC happen that's when its good.
"Games that require full intellectual and emotional involvement of the player are rare"
and that saves me quite a bit of trouble in deciding which games to buy because there aren't many choices for me... okay yeah that's not a good thing...
As alluded to there are multiple factors at work but I would say the two major factors would the developers that are enabling this by introducing mechanics like these and the gamers who won't buy a ga...
Yeah I always liked that and hated the hard plastic feel of the 360 buttons. Another thing I always loved was the pressure sensitive buttons though not many games used it... Ace Combat and SOCOM were the only series that I have played that used it (as far as I know).
Honestly I always felt the position of R1 always made it feel more like a trigger. Just the tip of my finger on the analog (pressure sensitive) trigger and then just giving it a firm but gentle squeeze... that was always more like shooting to me.
What is a game if you don't stand a good chance of failure? Isn't that the whole point of a game... to overcome failure...to overcome challenges?
My favorites would have to be the soundtracks for MGS3, Valkyria Chronicles, and SOCOM 3... I feel that VG music has to be able to fit the game well without standing out too much... but I notice I am drawn to the soundtracks that feature a large range of pitches and a smooth flow.
@Ju Thank you for hitting on the API thing may I also add that Dx is a package of multiple APIs. I'm sure the developers are quite capable of implementing their own APIs.(perhaps not on Xbox...MS might restrict them for proprietary reasons...idk)
@MiasmaDodo Why don't you stop being a colossal asshat and read what he said?
"I can't say it really bothers me after years upon years"
How is that "to weak to handle it" (nice misuse of to btw...)
Just because someone is weird doesn't mean that they can't "Man Up"... I am weird as hell but I demand respect. I can win a battle of words and, if someone is dumb enough to choose so, I can also win a ...
I wouldn't say it has a strong emphasis on stealth... the mechanics don't really support it. What's your punishment for blowing stealth? Maybe a dozen guards that surround you and proceeds to attack one at a time so you can parry spam and take them all out with no problem? If I play a game with that theme I want it to feel like I'm playing as an actual assassin. An assassin in the previously mentioned situation would either be ganked or be forced to run away... The game is int...
Its really sickening hearing all those comments talking about rotations and stuff. To me that's a handicap in an MMORPG if you are just going around with a prescripted battleplan how are you role playing? No, you are just merely spamming...
These outdated mechanics they are accustomed to needs to be changed. I want more attachment to the character, more customization....
I want READ AND REACT gameplay...
something dynamic that actually requires ...
The hilarious part is that many publishers use the excuse that demos lower sales... that is true if you make a bad game or a game that doesn't please your fanbase.
I thank the demo of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon for letting me know I should NOT buy that game...ever.
It's not true in all cases but there are many people that turn to piracy in place of a demo since demos have become so scarce. A demo lets you decide whether you like the game or not and if you play on PC it will give you a good idea of how the game will run on your system.
Ugh I hate rebates, I want the final price immediately... I don't wanna loan out $25 to the manufacturer for a PSU.
