Well, as far as platforms go, it all depends on which territory SE wants to focus on. A PS4 version would certainly do better in the West and could help the Dragon Quest franchise grow outside of Japan. However, since historically DQ games have done much better in Japan than in the rest of the world, it would also make sense to make it for the 3DS, which is arguably the most popular platform in Japan at the moment (mobile excluded). Of course, nothing stops them from making both.
Well, you don't have to buy all of them. I only change my mouse every 2 years or so, and every 3 years for my keyboard. It's not like they break often. And as far as mice go, a good one bought 3-4 years ago can still perform just as well as newer ones; the tech simply isn't progressing that fast, and we've long past the point where the DPi race made sense.
I think most of the sales must come from people replacing their old intellimouse or whatever came with th...
I think that with this quality of remaster, you're better off playing it on PC (if you have a decent rig) or just picking up a used copy of the games on the last-gen hardware. It's really not worth buying new if the developers/publishers can't be bothered to optimize their old games.
To make things worse, I don't think people were that excited for the Prototype series in the first place, and this remaster is only making things worse. I think we can say that th...
They have no reason to fail, unless they are completely out of touch with what consumers are looking for that is.
Technology wise, whether the NX is set to be a console, a handheld or an hybrid of some sort, other products have shown that it is possible to have a very powerful device and a good battery life (if not a home console). All that without demanding an absurd price for it as well.
If the NX is set to be a console, considering Nintendo has relied on A...
It's no devastating blow, but somewhat of a missed opportunity nonetheless.
I think that if developers really pushed for it, more and more PC gamers would use split-screen. If you really think about it, the PC could easily offer the best couch co-op experience. It offers multiple input methods, may it be kb/m, joysticks or multiple controllers. It can be plugged to one or multiple displays. And most of all, if your rig is powerful enough, a PC could run the game on 2 sc...
There's no definitive answer, some are good, others not so much. But most of all, it's all about the customers themselves. I think the Black Ops 3 fridge is nice looking and priced at a reasonable price, so I pre-ordered it. But some might have no need for the fridge at all, and may think it looks tacky or simply wouldn't fit in their current set up. For them, the BO3 one would be a bad deal.
I personally don't care much about the statues, with some exceptions...
I'd say a PC release later down the line is somewhat likely. Square Enix has been making a push for more of their games to appear on Steam recently. And, some of Omega Force's recent games have also made their way to Steam. For example, the One Piece Pirate Warriors series used to be exclusive to Playstation platform, but the third one will also be launching on Steam.
For some reason quite a few Japanese developers and publishers have taken an interest in the PC recen...
2 reasons I'd say.
The first one is that mobile games have a bad reputation among many console/handheld owners, despite the fact that some high quality games have made their way to mobile in the last few years. Bad reputation means lower sales. Which would bring me to the second reason.
Vita is simply a minuscule market at the moment compared to either the Android market place or the Apple App store. If you think about it, the Vita has about 10 million un...
I'm not a fan of his work, but I do realize that if he has managed to get this huge following and all these views, he must be doing something right.
There's no reason to hate him, he saw an opportunity and took it. And if you don't agree with the idea of someone making millions by playing video games, don't blame him, blame his viewers.
To all those saying Xbox is dead because of this, Microsoft doesn't care about the Xbox if it means bringing even more people to Windows 10.
A few things to remember, for every Xbox One sold, MS is losing cash, they then make some back thanks to the royalties from games sold on their system. The same applies for Sony.
On the other hand, Windows 10 makes money, and brings in additional revenues thanks to its app marketplace and Bing, which is the default ...
Nintendo was put in a bad spot this year; the Wii-U is on its last legs, while the NX is not ready to be officially announced. As a result, Nintendo had very little new games to show for the Wii-U, while I presume some of their biggest studios are already working on NX launch games.
The 3DS on the other hand, had more new games, simply because Nintendo expects it to sell for a couple more years. But if Nintendo has learned anything from the Wii and the Wii-U, they have moved ...
My main concern with the game isn't its business model, which seems fine to me, mostly now that they have confirmed the post launch content to be free. My concern is the developer, IO interactive. I've bought most if not all of their games, and every time, it's somewhat of a gamble.
The first Hitman had a great concept but poor execution, Silent Assassin was a very well crafted game and is still to this day one of the very best game they have developed. Contracts...
Well, that's pretty expensive. But then again, the standard controller is fine and the elite one is purely optional.
There are plenty of F2P games that aren't Pay2Win; hopefully this game will be among those. F2P got a bad reputation from the early F2P MMOs which were giving away huge advantages to those willing to use their credit cards, as well as quite a few mobile games in the so-called freemium model.
But, some of today's biggest and more popular games are F2P and can still be enjoyed, some at a competitive level, without spending a penny. League of Legends, Dota2, HotS, TF2, H...
Actually, from what I understand The Witcher 3's budget was 67 million dollars, including advertising. Star Citizen passed 83 million dollars as of May 2015.
Android is nothing more than an OS and isn't indicative of what the NX will be for-factor wise nor in terms of performance and content. Presuming they choose Android as the foundation of their OS (remember, Android itself is based on Linux, and can be modified and optimized for certain uses and devices), this could finally lead to a (portable?) gaming device with an half-decent OS; the Vita's bubbles and the sluggish 3DS interface being years behind what is available on the mobile fro...
To me both seem to have the edge over the other on some aspects, but overall I think the graphics are fine on the 3DS and won't interfere with the game. Hopefully SE will be smart enough to bring it to NA (and everywhere in the world) as opposed to keeping it exclusive to Japan. Unless they hate money that is, considering the translation already exists, I would presume localization costs of the 3DS version of the game would be minimal.
No big surprises here, although this being Steam stats, I would have expected Linux to have some somewhat bigger numbers since Steam offers a decent variety of linux compatible games.
While this article is pretty terrible, the point that AMD may disappear in a not so distant future is sadly a reality. On the CPU side, Intel has been dominating AMD for several years now, both in terms of performance and sales. And obviously, AMD's decision to give up the enthusiast/high performance market for a little while hasn't exactly helped them gain significant market shares either. On the GPU side, their offerings have been much more competitive in terms of raw performance, b...
Realistically Sony should have more of an advantage, as the Wii-U is unlikely to even make it to China with the NX on the way, and the Xbox One hasn't been able to make much of an impact in its limited release.
The real question however, is whether or not the Chinese will really embrace the current consoles at all. China, just like South Korea, has really shown to be fond of PC gaming. Games like League of Legends and DOTA2 are huge in both of these countries and are sti...
