Nintendo may be forced to reduce the price once PS4 and Xbox One launch. The Wii U is a great system, but unless something is done to attract more buyers, Nintendo may find itself in a very bad position later on.

How would this press the 'reset' button on a digital future? Consumers still purchase plenty of digital content, but the recent backlash the Xbox One received just proves that a lot of gamers are not ready move to an all-digital system yet. Besides, I fail to see how the 24hr check in feature had anything to do with digital games; it was mostly an anti-piracey measure to keep tabs on your Xbox game library.

I believe Microsoft did the right thing.

"Less than two weeks later, Microsoft completely changed its approach, reversing its position so much that the Xbox One will now work in much the same way as Xbox 360."

Most of us knew Microsoft would change its tune once enough gamers spoke with their wallets.

I hate to say it, but Nintendo needs to drop the price of the Wii U to generate more sales. Maybe then developers like EA and Ubisoft will not abandon the system.

Yes, it was from your post. Thank you for pointing it out!

Gamers can rest easy now knowing that not all multiplayer games will require Plus. It may boil down to first-party titles requiring Plus with third-party developers being given a choice.

Piracy is one of the reasons the 'stay connected' and 'must sign in every 24 hours' features are present in the new Xbox One. There's also the fact of our society living on the internet. This isn't true for some people where high-speed internet is either too expensive, unavailable in their area or too unstable to be used on Xbox One.

While I agree that Microsoft dragged us all 'kicking and screaming' into 2002 as XBL switched to broadband, what...

Maybe this has been brought up already, but what happens if you go on vacation and you're gone for a week or longer?

Just to clarify something regarding my 'Disagree' comment on the 'wrong source' report on this article: it should read, 'They have no reason to source the Twitter post.", not "We have no reason to source the Twitter post". I just wanted to clarify that since I can't delete and resubmit my disagree.

This is the best write up I've read so far. Good job!

So this was approved after the duplicate story?

Plus, the press Ubisoft sent out did not indicate that these were PS4 screenshots.

Unfortunately, you're right. There are some people who can't 'deal with it' and this may hurt Xbox Next sales. I hate to say it, but some hardcore Xbox gamers may forgo buying an Xbox Next because of this feature. This new feature is to obviously monitor Xbox Next consoles, among other things. While I am not against Microsoft protecting their IPs from hackers and piracy (I'm 100% for it), it just seems very restrictive to the consumer to make them stay online constantly....

Look at the Nintendo 3DS and how gamers were disappointed by its dismal launch. Nintendo's handheld is now gaining momentum after certain analysts said it was 'doomed'.

I remember when Naughty Dog released Keith the Thief for the Commodore Amiga and Way of the Warrior for 3DO. They have come a long way as far as game developers are concerned. I am really looking forward to seeing what they have planned for PS4.
