So Microsoft makes it so more people can play Halo 6 and make it cheaper for everyone with gamepass and everyone is complaining? Why do any of you care about Xbox’s financials? Microsoft made $10b from gaming last year so I hardly think they are doing it tough. Xbox is doing a lot of consumer friendly stuff and your all hating on it anyway

@wheresmymonkey who is buying a switch for Zelda: botw2 that hasn’t already bought one for BotW?

“Can’t let it happen again, especially after the Witcher 3 backlash”
The Witcher 3 backlash that did not hurt them in anyway whatsoever? The game sold many millions of copies on console.
I don’t buy this at all. It will run fine on current consoles, maybe with some slightly lower resolution or whatever. As long as the game is fun I’m sure it will still look visually fine. People are playing the Witcher 3 on switch at like 480p ffs. Are they trying to say this game is so mu...

@infiniteloop there were plenty of games that had game breaking bugs in the days before console updates. And lots of games that had harmless bugs, but bugs none the less.

Despite that games are not as simple as they were 10-20 years ago. As graphics and size and tech improve games take longer need more people and cost more money. The more we expect our games to do and the more complicated they get the more opportunities for bugs to happen. Most of the time it’s not a big d...

I don’t know how great your memory is then because there were plenty of games from cartridge days that were buggy as hell. Some had game breaking bugs. Also worth keeping in mind that games back then were much simpler to make. Goldeneye on 64 was made by a dozen dudes in like a year. As consumers we demand and expect much higher quality which take hundreds sometimes thousands of people to make.

Yeah having a massive company like Microsoft bankrolling your work so you don’t have to worry about wether you can afford to stay open must be so stressful 😑

Don’t really agree with this article at all, but to each his own

I don’t think we will see final fantasy again. They showed that in the last one and also at recent events. Ghosts of Tsushima probably won’t be shown either, I think we will see that in a January/February State of play. I think given it’s 20 mins, we get 5-10 mins of the last of us part 2, some medieval seeings though it’s out soon, a few smaller titles and ends on a tease for a new Batman game from WB

@bladesfist I believe that the digital store fronts report on their sales figures much the same as retail brick and mortar stores. I could be wrong though

This article is actually from almost a week ago, though it hasn’t aged well. Borderlands 3 appears to be selling really well if the talk about it breaking gearbox records and what not are to be believed. Would like to hope this “journalist” goes back and updates this rather negative article if he is proven wrong, however I doubt he will

I hear most of these things being discussed regularly so i dunno why you think they aren’t. Also you point on reviews, can you site any examples of publishers paying reputable sites for positive reviews? From what I have seen this is just an ongoing myth/conspiracy, however I have seen and heard of publishers paying YouTube/twitch influencers to give positive impressions to their millions of followers. This flys more under the radar to me and no “gamers” seem to give a shit. They are more int...

I have seen the complete opposite. Most people I have seen discussing the game are acting like this is a guaranteed 10/10 before we even new what it is. Kojima has made some fantastic games, I’ve played all the metal gear games since MGS on ps1. But this game doesn’t look fun to me personally. If your sold by what you’ve seen then fantastic I’m stoked for you, I don’t want any game to fail.

I don’t think a lot of people do on this site. Just reacting to click bait titles

If gifs could work on this site I’d post the one of the baby elephant twirling it’s trunk around. These arguments are kinda stupid when you are comparing different games with different art styles and direction

Reviews are just one persons opinion. If you find someone who’s opinions are similar you can use that to judge. To be clear tho generally a 6-7 is an ok to good game. They can still be enjoyed. It’s the internet that interprets anything below an 8 to be bad

Someone gives a game a Good score they complain they are paid off. Someone gives a game a bad score they complain that critics don’t know what they are talking about and are just “hating” on the game. People don’t seem to understand what opinions are. They either blindly argue to validate their purchase or hate on a game and shame others for liking it just because it’s not what they like

There is a lot of 7s and 8s and a solid handful of 5s and 6s. I wouldn’t say 9 is the average

@Lore oh they are a joke when you don’t agree with one of their employee or freelancer opinions but they are ok when you do agree? A review is one persons opinion, either look at meta critic for the average score or find a reviewer/influencer that has similar tastes to you and follow their impressions

@UltraNova their score lines up with most others if you check meta critic. IGNs reviewers are purposely kept separate from sales and marketing. I don’t believe at all that IGN gets paid off for reviews, given some of the high profile games they have given low scores, even when doing the same style of promotional advertising. Their boss (Peer Schneider) has a pretty good reputation
