I dont think it demoralizes at all. I imagine it would take quite a while to start a console from scratch. The R&D takes time, the concept mock ups, controllers, architecture, etc.
I would be scared if they didnt start until 2 or so years before the next cycle to be honest.

I wouldnt say its killing the game industry at all. Exclusive content helps draw in gamers to a specific console. You can call it moneyhatting or whatever, but the fact is, if you can market a unique product of value, then obviously it will draw more customers. Business is business.
I wouldn't say the xbox/destiny conflict comes down to entitlement as much as a mass assumption that bungle would favor the Xbox. Not quite the same thing.
You could very well be right. It would make sense that the publisher would sell the rights and not the developers. I guess I'm just lookin for someone to blame...
I would have to think Steam had a big part in this healthy market. They literally threw everything I knew a it PC gaming on its head. I am primarily a Pc gamer, but I have all the consoles too. As a Pc gamer it almost puts you above all the petty resolutiongate Bs that is flying around consoles lately. I'm not going all Master Race or anything, but I play games, not resolutions.
Even though I planned to snag this on PC, this is a kick in the balls for Ninty. Cant believe Slightly Mad werent tied to some kind of clause so they couldnt backdoor Ninty like this. Sad, sad day.
