If you ever make the move to Android, check out an Nvidia Shield. They are $200 and will play almost anything you throw at it. From NES, Super Nes, PSP, PSX, N64, it plays it all. And they are considerably cheaper than an Ipad. You can even hook the Shield up to your Tv if you want to use bluetooth controller.
Anyways, give it a looksie before buying your next tablet.

Oh yes, bring on the Bully. I play GTA:VC and GTA:SA on my Shield all the time. The more great ports (to android) the better!

Ha ha, I hear you there guy. My memories of gaming in my youth do come out rather rosy colored. Luckily I am the type of guy to just play the game and enjoy it. Resolutions and stuff are just icing. I am playing HL2 on my shield right now in fact.
I am a big fan of old school ROMs and such, so I have a feeling this will be a good start. Hopefully I can truck on through all 4 games and be ready for Guardians.

Nicely done. I cant wait for the follow up after the VR show. I am very interested in the peripherals used with VR. It seems that is really the last piece of the VR puzzle.
I really hope VR takes off past video games and moves to more interactive media. With Peter Jackson and James Cameron showing interest in VR, I feel this could be a huge shift in media medium. Imagine a concert or PPV fight where you could actually move around and feel like you are there. Maybe get differe...

I have never played a Halo game before, but my friends are hyped to the maximum allowable levels for the MCC. So I am pretty excited to play through all the games in remastered glory. Hopefully I can see for myself what all the buzz is about.

Quick,

Rare did say they were working on a completely new AAA IP so there may be hope yet for a new addition.
And you have to think that Banjo released well into the 360 lifespan, so it was probably overlooked due to some other great releases at the time. X1 simply doesnt have any other offerings for a great 3d platformer right now. That alone may push sales.
All I know is that I will certainly be keeping my eye on these characters.

Quite frankly, I hope they Dont have backwards compatability on their next console. Strictly because that would assume the next console has a game tablet or wii-motes. I am hoping beyond hope nintendo shies away from these peripherals or go the way of the X1 and (eventually) let the consumer buy the add-ons at their own pace. Other than that I think the list is solid.

3D platformers are rare, but they arent niche by any means. Most are more accessible for all ages, so I can see Banjo Kazooie pulling in some good numbers.

Yes! My youth has been restored! Cant wait to see what else that bear will pull out of that yellow backpack.

But shadow, baby, I am a pc gamer. And a console gamer. And with Steam and console mode, I feel like I never really left the console scene even if I was Pc exclusive. Personally, I like having the best of both worlds. Makes all the resolutions and fanboys become irreverent.

I absolutely love my Shield. It does Far more than a Vita and yet Nvidia never marketed it at all. Some people think that the Shield is just a flagship for Nvidia to show off some tech, but it is an incredible unit.
I simply cannot believe such a great unit like the Shield was never sold in a Future Shop or Best Buy. My point is simply, dont judge the Shield on low attach rates (how you would find the number of Shield owners, I have no idea) but enjoy it for the portable beast th...

Crap, Ashcroft beat me to it.

"Buy a PC if you want every game to be 1080p"

In all honesty though, it is very early in the Ps4 cycle.

@Kiwi and Spotie,

Believe it or not, the Wifi is for the in-line water filter. When the filter needs to be changed you can literally push a button on my fridge to order a new one online. That is an incredibly esoteric feature especially for a fridge, but it came with the set I ordered. Im not that pretentious...

In my most humble of opinions, the Kinect 2.0 is the biggest letdown in the last few years I can think of. The 1:1 tracking and voice recognition were severely lacking at launch. I know this is a polarizing topic, but its just my thoughts.

The Wii wasnt a letdown in my opinion. It was never touted as anything but the Console for Casuals. Now the Wii U launch, there is a bad memory.

Do you mean Intel processor i7? I dont think AMD titles their Cpu as such.
Are you doing 2 X 980 for SLI or just keeping it as an option?

Well, there may never be a 'need' for a slim version, but they are pretty much inevitable. Its just the society we are living in. Hell, even my fridge has Wifi. Necessity may in fact not be the mother of all invention.

Very true. I had the same issues with Deus Ex. The Node thing was cool on gamepad, but the rest of the fps controls were awkward as hell on such a big tablet. I truly hope Nintendo does a separate Console that kicks ass, and a separate Portable that kicks ass. Not a weird marriage of the 2, and not a WiiU *New or *New 3DS.

Well, Nintendo has a pretty good track record of releasing consoles over the last 20-something years. I think a console at some point will be inevitable as the sunrise.
