I know it's subjective, but list is bad, mentioning only very popular franchises.
Resident Evil was just recently got a reboot (or reset if you will) and, IMO, it's much better than Resident Evil 6, in every way.
Same goes for Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, though, Ubisoft turned them into a samey RPG-lite.
Call of Duty just needs to die already. They have 34 games released in 18 years, almost 2 games each year. This is beyond ridiculous.
This feels so rough and janky. Animations, visual issues, repetition.
Same gameplay without any variations (no minigames, no tactics at all or for the most parts, bare-bones stealth, ok shooting), similar tasks (kill-capture-scan, defend-escort-rescue, GTFO-like stand-in-an-area-and-wait), very dumb AI (enemies just run straight at you), enemies are not threatening unless they appear out of nowhere and/or bum-rush you (and i counted like 5 types so far?), random restriction...
While visually it looks good (aside from few points), it's very clunky so far, not sure if they'll be able to finish it in 2022. Don't get me wrong, it's a great work so far (especially for free, by fans), but a lot of the people called this «perfection» and «Million times better than Capcom» and, in my opinion, it's too far from perfection or better job than Capcom (which makes sense, since Capcom is so huge and have a lot of money). What i'm tryin...
Was this letter planned for investors or what? Why i, as a customer and a player, should care about how he's foaming at the mouth over the «Metaverse»? There's no mention of how will it improve the games. And i still haven't seen how those microtransactions improved the gaming scene in any way, shape or form. And i don't see how various coins and NFTs improved anything, at all (other that scamming, money laundering and praying on FOMO).

«Who are any of you to "call them out" if it is what they enjoy»
First of all, we are people, just like you or @JohnJ. Why you and @JohnJ can express your opinion and "call us out" and we can't, i don't get it. Don't you see how absurd this is?
Second, no one is saying he can't enjoy the game. Not a single person said that. Please, read carefully and you'll see. People are saying stuff again...
Come on, calling people toxic right away is just bad. Don't manipulate others by painting people you disagree with as bad and/or evil. Not to mention, @Welshy has nothing toxic in his comment, at all.
Popularity doesn't equals quality. Look at Epic Game store. It's popular, yes, but doesn't have quality like Steam or GOG (EGS just recently added a cart. Cart in a virtual store was added years after launch). Stuff like TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and other. Sam...
I get why you (or any other person) might think this is news-worthy. I get if this was «Opinion» or «Article». But this is not news, as i stated in my original comment.
On topic, Target just followed a law, «39 US Code § 3009» to be specifi*. I get that this is a sob Christmas-related story and some people might like it. I think this is clearly an ad, because:
- It clearly says which store was responsible (seven times, in fact);

Why is this submission labeled as «News»? This sounds more like an ad to me. But this is definitely not news in any way, shape or form.
Aside from looking very rough (framerate, textures), do they reuse Final Fantasy XV animations or what? Running, jumping and parkour/jumping over fences at least looks identical to me. Fighting looks kind of slow. Those are regular enemies, it looks like, but it takes longer to kill them than i would expect. Also, that "treasure" felt... unrewarding? Not a fan of those one-liners either.
Sadly, it looks like n4g staff just don't care. I hope i'm wrong, but this is not the first time this issue was brought up.
I mean, previously, we had a "Newsboiler" section (or something like that; news from other similar websites) and this website - dailyvideogame.com - turned it into one big «Amazon discounts X on Y up to Z%». "X" is movies, anime, comic books, whatever, "Y" - specific category (sometimes it was missing; li...
While that does sound completely logical, they do this specifically in December, before the Christmas shopping. Gotta put dem «GOTY» and «Player's Choice» stickers and bragging marketing posters first, so unaware parents would know what to buy for their kids.
I also don't understand how games that would be released in december of this year are just missing from the show. And no one will remember them on the next years' show. It's like the...
Because players are paying a company and guarantee their engagement (or else money will be wasted). Companies love high engagement (the higher the better) and money (same principle), so it's a win-win for them.
And players game some virtual pixels, polygons and increase in some - also virtual - numbers to brag about.
For some reason, when i heard the name Arc Raiders, i immediately remembered that CliffyB's game, LawBreakers. Hope this game'll be better, though i don't trust mr. Patrick and wouldn't preorder or buy any of his games at release. Never forget!
«Listen: this is a game. And today gaming is gender-diverse, like it hasn't been before. There are a lot of female people who want to play, and male players who want to play as a badass [woman]. And we don...
I do hope they'll address the balancing issues. When you start the game, if you take one step away from the main questline path, you're screwed, enemies are just overpowered. Even if you have a companion (unless you're using grenades, then you're 100% fine). And for the longest time, you couldn't join any of the group, due to the questline requirements.
I enjoyed the plot/lore, locations, some quests with consequences and exploration. But that ending was...

Hey, thanks for the insights and i'm glad that you're so dedicated, i really appreciate it! MK2 was one of my most favorite games when i was growing up, so this project means a lot to me personally.
I didn't mean the project is bad or something (or that you shouldn't make it). I'm a web developer myself and i usually try to be very harsh and straightforward towards myself and others' work. That doesn't mean that i hate/dislike others' work, i...
What they turned Liu Kang into, seriously? And what's with Raiden's fingers, like there's something missing with them? Character shadows look too sharp on the arena, imo.
A lot of the character details are missing, like Cyrex and his mask. Originally, as far as i see and remember, his mask has tubes connected to the back of the skull. And armor used to looked like armor, not some yellow leather jacket.
"Battle 1" screen and Sub-Zero ...
Battlefield 2042 is more than enough to prove that either management was way too greedy, QA doesn't exist, developers are bad at what they're doing or all at once. If they're going to make Battlefield Bad Company 3, it'll be another fail. And judging by the recent Battlefield trend, it'll be even worse that 2042.
Unless some management changes are going happen at those companies and EA + DICE + whoever responsible will start listening to the community (i...
Yeah, and they said the same stuff about selling XP boosters, yet, they still did that (now it's not available for purchase and article did mention that). I don't think anyone should trust them and Square Enix anymore.
P. S.: Also, when i first read «CD», i thought, it meant CD Projekt Red and couldn't understand what they have to do with Marvel's Avengers. First time i hear someone call Crystal Dynamics just «CD»
It doesn't work like that though. Look at DLC, microtransactions and lootboxes as an example. At first, just a few popular games had that. After it was accepted and people paid for them, even more developers and publishers started to implement them till almost every game had those elements. Publishers started acting like it's a good thing, it helps the game be better and support it (which is complete lie), basically normalizing those elements. Now you can't imagine a game without ...
