Yeah I mean I'm not saying it was a perfect game of course, I would have preferred a traditional campaign, but the actual gameplay and multiplayer from the start was promising. 343 just failed to utilize it.
Redfall is a shit show from top to bottom that should never have been launched. Should of been cancelled rather than delayed. Likening that to Halo is a bit far.
My point exactly, if Halo infinite launched with Forge and more maps/game modes that would of been a game of the year contender. Like with all their Halo games though 343 dropped the ball.
Halo 4 - Multiplayer was bad, campaign was solid
Halo 5 - multiplayer was good, campaign was terrible.
Halo Infinite - Decent campaign, Great multiplayer, bare bones in content though.
It's like they focus on thing over another in development inste...
I get people are disappointed with Halo's content updates and features missing at launch. But the actual game itself was pretty fucking good, it didn't have the hype behind it when it first launched for no reason. It's a good game that was managed poorly.
Halo infinite gets a a bad rap because it's fashionable, but to compare it to the absolute dumpster fire that is redfall is nonsense.
They ran out of time for me when there's wasn't a single exclusive annoced in like the first 8 months of the console, shit was pathetic right off the bat.
Been downvoted before when I've said this, but they won't be making another Xbox console, not a fucking chance after this, and if they do, with the amount of studios they've got they should be releasing a AAA every month or 2, not once every 5 years. Xbox has been dead a long time, Redfall was just the...
While I commend Phil for coming out and facing the music. It sounds very defeatist to me, like oh we know we're 3rd place and we're happy with that. Yeah no shit your actions have shown that for the last decade or so.
Also by saying "I hear the fans that they're sick of hearing wait for next year, but the showcase should be really good and from next year we will release a big game every 3 months" it's the same shit you've been saying for the la...
Its great for 3rd party and yes HiFi rush was a breath of fresh air, but it ain't selling consoles. I don't think Xbox will exist as a hardware platform next generation and will purely focus on game pass on PC and getting it on other platforms eg. Nintendo's new platform and the next steam deck etc.
Yeah I enjoy game pass don't get me wrong, it's incredible value for the 3rd party content it offers. However for people to say that the 1st party stuff hasn't suffered as a result is lying to themselves.
3 years in nearly and they've only had ONE good 1st party game in Forza horizon 5. That shit is unacceptable and at this point they don't justify existing as a platform. If they don't have a miracle of a second half of a generation, because that'...
A bad game is a bad game, regardless of price. Don't care it's on game pass, why would I put myself though a bad time because it's free hahaha.
But yeah I mean, the YouTubers I trust have said it's terrible, that's enough for me to give it a miss, Xbox really needs Starfield to be a win.
I was expecting it to not be great but it looks like a massive failure. Not even going to bother playing it with the amount of backlash it's got.
Even mattyplays slammed it, a well known Xbox fanboy. If even Xbox fan boys are slamming it you know it's bad, can't believe how bad this gen has been for Xbox, I think despite its initial promise it's been worse than the Xbox one to be honest with you.
This is the problem I'm seeing already, if this was any other company planning 10 GaaS they would be torn to shreds. Sony? No go right ahead fuck your brand up.
I already find it hypocritical that people are asking for them from Sony when the same people have been saying this shit has become a tumour in gaming, until their favourite company does it obviously.
I find it hard to get behind live service games. There's been one or two succesful ones and for those there's a dozen that have failed.
This to me screams "we are proud of our 1st party studios, but they're just not making us enough money".
The live service experiment failed with a few outliers, stick to what you're good at Sony and what people love you for.
I mean if you read what I actually wrote it's not just on Redfall articles is it.
I'm not saying it's not gunna be a bad game, I guess I'm just sick of hearing about it now.
I'm not talking about just on this article though. Every Xbox/Redfall/Bethesda article, whether it be positive, negative or indifferent, people shit all over this game.
I get it doesn't look like a goty, but Jesus, I've never seen such disdain for a cheesy coop shooter.
Why doesn't everyone wait till the reviews show a realistic average? Don't understand the need and want for a game to fail. I suggest you're right but it's like a lot of people are personally offended by this game.
Chill out man.
That's the issue, if there was more games being released people wouldn't be this harsh, unfortunately this is all Xbox players are being given and it doesn't look great.
I love my Series X and game pass, but it's been a while since I've been given an excuse to turn it on.
Said this before but Redfall got a raw hand out the gate. It's the first big exclusive in nearly 2 years from Xbox, anything less than perfect and it was going to get trashed. I'll reserve judgement until reviews and I've got hands on, but it's not looking good.
I do believe though if this was after another couple of big hitters, say Fable and HellBlade hypothetically speaking and they turned out to be good games. No one would be this focused on Redfall and ...
Especially when the gamers they're talking about are the ones who are responsible for the media existing in the first place as the early adopters of a whole new form of media at the time.
I do think there have been strides to combat the issues that people with disabilities/age related issues face which is only a good thing. More people who can play games the better as it's the best artform on earth in my opinion.
That being said, competitive multi...
I think this mindset from Devs is why we're currently in this state.. oh if people don't like the initial release we can always fix it later. While there has been some success stories E.g No man's sky and Cyberpunk, most games don't have the hype behind them to warrant the patience from gamers.
Your biggest market is working people who have very limited time to play your games, if a game comes out and it's borked, I probably will never touch it again. I&...
