Still kicking ass and taking names!
I enjoyed Reach's multiplayer but I find myself going back to Halo 3's. Still play both, though I play Halo 3's multiplayer much more. Even 4 years later.
It was a generic shooter from day one, masquerading as a mediocre RPG.
I enjoyed Bulletstorm but it didn't have the content to justify the $60 price tag. The campaign was short with marginally interesting characters, the multiplayer was one dimensional and got boring fast and Echo was basically replaying a bland campaign without the things that made it interesting.
What's funny is that if any of you read his rant, he's right. There is huge anti-Call of Duty sentiment across the internet and that group needs this game to be great; not good, not solid but great. There seems to be a concerted effort to dismiss the clear short comings of Battlefield 3. As it was with Battlefield Bad Company 2 when it was pitted last year against Black Ops.
Like Gears of War wasn't already a casual franchise? It's a cover based shooter with no boss battles to speak of and the multiplayer requires you only to have a good connection and use a shotgun. How is that not casual?
They added auto vista, upped the polygon count of the in-game car models, added even more community features like car clubs and rivals mode, redid the entire tyre model of the game from the ground up with the help of Pirreli and all this 2 years after Forza 3's launch. Frankly the writer sounds like a GT fanboy with an axe to grind and he can bugger off. I guess they're suppose to take six years and give you a last gen game huh?
Those were PC gameplay videos. We've still yet to see direct feed video of any of the console versions of the game.
@ BeastlyRig
I don't think Jaffe has been involved with the God of War franchise since the first game. That said, Battlefield 3 could look like Left 4 Dead and it would still be hyped to high hell. The problem is, the industry needs a giant killer and Battlefield 3 is their best hope of dethroning current industry giant Call of Duty. It wont. They did the same thing with Battlefield Bad Company 2 against Black Ops last year and look how that turned out.
@ NathanExplosion
Uncharted, at its core, is a derivative action adventure game, with story and plots aped from games and movies in the genre. The gameplay is equally unoriginal. Fantastically pretty but wholly unoriginal.
I guess the answer is a resounding "yes"!
Man, who cares, it's just so beautiful. God, can't wait to get my hands on this!
Me want it NOW
@ slapedurmomsace
Shut up douche bag!!!
That's not exactly how it works. Most games have to sell 1 million units for the publisher to break even. You haven't factored in studio overhead and salaries, development costs, advertising, showing the game at trade shows.
I don't get it, to me, Battlefield is much easier than Call of Duty. There's a steeper learning curve but while Call of Duty rewards new and intermittent players, Battlefield rewards the player who invests time into learning how to play the right way.
Ah, no! Pointless. Absolutely pointless. Most of what it promises is already part of Call of Duty's stat tracking.
@ ReservoirDog316
Two words; six years! Six years and nothing. When the game finally arrives it will be dated and cliched as Final Fantasy XIII was.
What exactly is camping? If I make an area my own, knowing the traffic pattern of the opposing team and using that to my advantage, how is that camping? To me, camping is a guy who parks himself in an area of the map where there is little to no traffic and sits to safely get 2 or 3 kills to get him to a killstreak. That's camping. If you're playing the traffic patterns of an objective, moving between a limited area, that isn't camping.
I don't think they're unable to. I think at this point in the generation, they're just coasting. Developing a new IP is costly and a gamble. It's clear they're depending heavily on established franchises like Gears of War, Halo, Forza and Fable. Microsoft seems to be playing it safe.
Well said! You really can't dress up a turd. This is actually my worst fears realize with Kinect software; garbage software like this.
